    I've had this shell for about a year now - it was the first softshell in a plus size I wanted.

    Things I love: The zip collar is perfect for protecting from windy Chicago winters. The pockets are at just the right point, deep enough to hold my keys.

    Fit is flattering and not bulky, room for a sweater underneath.

    I live in Chicago and have worn it until about 10 degrees - and up to 50.

    Also wears well for snowshoeing in the Colorado Rockies - wind blocking is good.

    It resists wind and snow really well - no real complaints, other than sleeve length is just a tad short.

        I have had good luck with women's extended sizes from REI but not this time. Could only wear a light shirt underneath for it to fit in the arms (even elbow-wrist area). Even then sleeves were too short. The men's version has an extra pocket which would have been nice in the women's. Loved the feel. Felt like it would be fairly warm but not bulky. Returned the jacket. May get the men's if it goes on sale.
