Comments about REI Orbita Wheeled Pack - 20'':
I am happy with this pack. I used this for a 3 day business trip and it was able to hold enough stuff for the trip. It even fit my size 12 shoes. The bag was filled to capacity but still fit in the overhead compartment. The handle is a little wobbly but it still seems strong enough. It worked great going through airports and hotels. I didn't use it as a backpack, nor do I expect to.

Comments about REI Orbita Wheeled Pack - 20'':
This is the perfect carry on; comfortable to carry on your back when you have other luggage to roll and excellent rolling ability when it's your only bag!
Large, seperated compartments are nice and hold lots of gear.
In a rush, it's time consuming to unclip straps and tuck them into the tight pockets on the back. If you don't tuck them before rolling they will drag and catch on wheels.
My husband got an REI rolling backpack (earlier model), then I wanted one, now my mom is getting one.

Comments about REI Orbita Wheeled Pack - 20'':
The good: I really like how this pack was made from post-consumer materials. The wheels roll smoothly across most surfaces, the handle telescopes to a nice height(important when you're tall like me), and it's lightweight and looks great; not too business-like and not too juvenile(hard to find in a rolling pack).
The bad: The notebook computer compartment was too small, even though my laptop met the size specs. for this pack. The Velcro strip didn't reach over my laptop, and so it moved around within the compartment. The laptop pouch had no padding, and it was hard to load the pack with my textbooks and supplies; not enough compartments. The fabric that divides the compartments is thin and may separate from the seams if the pack is used for hauling heavy or bulky items on a regular basis.
That being said, however..It would make a great weekender, overnighter, or sport bag. Unfortunately, I was on the market for something sturdier, so I returned it. If I already didn't have an overnighter, I would have definitely kept it and used it for that. I would love to see REI make a series of packs like this one with varying degrees of padding/strength. I would definitely take another look.

Comments about REI Orbita Wheeled Pack - 20'':
I had ordered this pack because I'm a student who also needs to haul around a laptop. I was disappointed to find the "padded laptop sleeve" was anything but padded. Only minimal padding toward the bottom, and the Velcro closure wasn't long enough to safely anchor my laptop, even though my laptop was within the size specs for this pack. It swung loosely in the compartment instead.
The fabric that divides the compartments is thin and not padded; heavy items such as books could cause the seams to separate over time.
This would be a great pack for a weekend trip, or a great sports pack to carry uniforms and a change of clothes. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy items such as books, or for fragile items such as laptops or other electronics.
The upside? I appreciated the fact it was made from post consumer materials. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for me to keep the pack, and so I'm returning it.
