Comments about REI Acumen Pack - Women's:
While the Acumen seemed in the shop to be a good buy, in real life use, it is not a bag I can recommend purchasing.
The way the Acumen is designed does not make it good for use in the rain. While the fabric is mostly waterproof, moisture runs down the seams and it all gathers at the bottom of the compartment that sits on/nearest the back. This is the compartment that holds the computer.
The zips and the way it opens, padding, make it difficult to swing the bag off one shoulder and getting stuff out. I always have to take the bag off my back, put it down on the floor.
It does not make a good bag to swing to one shoulder if you are in a tight situation and need to squeeze by.
On daily use, I find the bag still looks big when it's not filled. This makes it inconvenient in an urban environment when you have to squeeze on the bus/subway.
While this bag is quite comfortable to use, I feel the negatives outweigh all the small positives in this bag.

Comments about REI Acumen Pack - Women's:
Fits a good amount of all kinds of stuff: books, maps, clothing, shoes, gadgets. I had if packed full and it still fit perfectly under an airplane seat.
