Comments about Gerber Obsidian Serrated Knife:
Great on brush and small branches. It's weight let's you know where it is when you're on the move. The locking mechanism ensures safety among younger users. My only disappointment is the bottle opener, but the blade can over come that. I've used it to open everything from canned food to my mail. Love it!

Comments about Gerber Obsidian Serrated Knife:
I use mine backpacking and camping mainly.
Solid Gerber knife with a great Blade.
I hacked my way through some gnarly trails in Big Sur last year. Did a great job of cutting through the brush and misc junk. Heavy, sturdy blade. I managed to lose it on the last day, but got a new one.
The Phillips head is okay at best.
The worst feature is the bottle opener. WORTHLESS. Almost impossible to open a bottle with the beverage of your choice.
Plus the knife is a big on the heavy side.
I'd also recommend skipping this knife and getting the c33Lx because of the carabiner clip.

Comments about Gerber Obsidian Serrated Knife:
I use this product as my everyday-knife. I am hardly ever without it. The knife lock is really nice and the blade keeps it's edge. Whether it is outdoors use or opening a box, this knife performs really well. The only downfall is the phillips-head extension on the back of the knife. It tends to fold up on you if you push to hard and the bit width is small. Overall, this knife is a great value.
