Comments about Repel Sportsmen Formula Insect Repellent Wipes - Package of 20:
Took these on a trip. On opening and first use, they seemed great. I love the idea of the wipes. But, after using I put in my toiletry kit. Upon opening the toiletry kit later, everything was ruined. This case leaked horribly and repellant is pretty toxic stuff. This was early on in a 3 week trip and I ended up just throwing this and most of my toiletries/meds away and ruining a few shirts that the whole mess leaked on (it leaked OUT of the ziploc it was in as well). What a waste. Don't buy this product unless you are planning to leave it upright and in place at all times.

Works great as a Mosquito Repellent! HOWEVER!!! The container LEAKS if any pressure is put on it that distorts the body from the lid of the container. I found this out as it was packed among my gear and found the leak ate the face off my iPod touch wheel AND put a nice size hole in my North Face Base Camp Duffel! SO take my word, Find another product with a sealed container or put this stuff in a Pelican Case though I am not sure it would not disincarnate that either! :o(

It definitely served its purpose when my husband and I were in the Amazon basin, deep in malaria, yellow fever, etc... but we threw it out immediately upon leaving for other parts of the Brazil. As the two other reviews point out, it leaks like mad.
After melting the ziplock bag it was stored in, it proceeded to destroy part of a pack. Any plastic, paint, man-made fabric... melted. Not only destructive, but rather disturbing to have that on our skin each day.
If one MUST carry this in a pack, try wrapping it loosely in /multiple/ layers of paper towels and then in a ziplock. And if you have a part of your pack with the least pressure, place it there (upright).

I took this stuff to Villa Hermosa in Mexico. The first night I was there I slept in a hammock under an open window (it was 90 till around 3:00am). The bugs were out like crazy and this stuff did keep it off me...However, it also burned like crazy after I put it on. I have never had a reaction to a bug repellent before but this stuff made me feel like I was melting. I wiped myself down with a damp shirt and was able to get some sleep after that. I never tried the stuff again on that trip and I ditched it once back home. It did keep bugs away but if something melts plastic and burns like that I think your health might be better served by getting bug bites!

Three of my sons and I used these for a week in the High Uintas in late August. The mosquito population was only moderate in intensity, but one of these wipes is all we each needed to go bug free for hours. And we wore shorts every day until about 7:00 p.m. Also, none of our containers--we had three total--leaked, apparently a problem for others who've tried this product. A last plus: These are the least greasy bug wipes I've tried.
