The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gerber FliK Multi-Tool:
Gerber has done it again. I've owned a few Gerber tools and all have outlasted my ability to keep track of them. This one combines Gerber's famous one-handed opening pliers with one-handed-opening knife blades. I've only had it a few days, but it's solid, well-crafted, and on par with the fine workmanship of the other Gerber products I've owned.
The blades are easy to deploy, the right size, and well-designed. Not only would I recommend this to a friend, but I would recommend this tool to anyone. We should all have a tool like this so that we may "fend for ourselves."

Comments about Gerber FliK Multi-Tool:
Owned a previous version of this tool and my ability to keep track of it was its only fault.
I purchased this one to replace my old one as an everyday carry multi-tool. I find having one at all times is far too handy. I prefer the Gerber Flik to offerings from Leatherman because the pliers are dead simple to deploy. As something to carry everyday, I found that the Leatherman Wave was a bit too large to do so comfortably.
This updated version feels more solid than my previous one.

Comments about Gerber FliK Multi-Tool:
I have had two of these multi-tools and have experienced problems with both.If the tool is stored in the sheath with the pliers facing down, the pliers will slowly slip out of the locked position and be visible outside of the sheath. This is not normally and issue, but it can cause damage to gear if you don't notice that the pliers are exposed. The only way to resolve this issue was to store the tool with the pliers pointing up in the sheath. The other issue was that sometimes after using the pliers they would not unlock to be stowed back inside the tool. I had to repeatedly hit them on a piece of wood to get the release mechanism unstuck. The knife blades and other tools worked well, but the plier problems caused me to return this multi-tool.[...].I think I will stick with the Leatherman Wave.

Comments about Gerber FliK Multi-Tool:
After struggling with this thing I finally took it back. I've always trusted Gerber knives so had high hopes that this would be equal in quality. Wrong … Extending & retracting the pliers or opening this thing was extremely frustrating … only after whacking it a few times could I finally get it to open. Bad design for a what could be a great tool.
Another minor problem was the pliers, when sheathed & pointing down, would extend. Just another irritation.
A good thing is that finish and craftsmanship was excellent keeping with what I would expect from Gerber.

Comments about Gerber FliK Multi-Tool:
Used it three times. The pliers stuck halfway in and would not retract or extend. The whole tool locked up and cannot be unlocked. This thing is over complicated and designed to fail.
