        Comments about OtterBox 1000:

I did a lot of comparison shopping before deciding to go with the OtterBox brand. I was impressed with OtterBox because of their low cost, and because their cases are actually waterproof. (The Pelican boxes sold by REI, by comparison, cost more and are not waterproof.) I put my camera in this box and submerged it in water, and it came out bone dry. This case in particular is also a great size. It can fit either my phone or camera. It's also just a great size in general for anything small: matches, keys, tinder, watches, jewelry, etc. The hinge seems durable, and it snaps closed very tightly. As far as I can tell, this box should hold up for a long time. I mainly use this box to hold my phone when I go kayaking, but I'll also use it on backpacking trips and day hikes to keep on hand, just in case I get caught in a down poor. When I'm not using it for something outdoorsy, it lives in my car.

Soon, I'm going to buy a larger OtterBox. Truly a great product. Versatile, durable, and a great value!

        Comments about OtterBox 1000:

I am an avid cyclist and I needed a closure that would prevent my phone ID card and money from getting lost, broken, or wet. I absolutely loved this box, it fits my LG Lotus phone, a credit card, and ID, and a few bucks and there is still plenty of space. I wouldn't be surprised if this box could withstand 1000 pounds on top of it.

          Comments about OtterBox 1000:

I am an avid long distance walker and sometime I get caught in the rain. This Otterbox has kept my camera dry on several occasions. The latch is a bit hard to open/close but that is because of the excellent seal.

            Comments about OtterBox 1000:

I am an avid GeoCacher and I'm always looking for well built, durable and waterproof containers. This and all other OtterBox containers that I have encountered are great for the job. The container can handle the elements and the abuse of being outdoors for months or years. I highly recommend this product.

            Comments about OtterBox 1000:

            My likes,
            - Virtually indestructible
            - Gasket creates a waterproof seal leakproof to 100 ft. and it floats
            - Tight cam-buckle closure
            - Nylon lanyard long enough to wear around the neck
            - Just perfect size for my small phone, small and compact.
            - I have the clear, so at a quick look can see if there are any messages without opening

            My dis-likes,
            - Unpadded, really not that big of an issue to carry another sunglasses sock to put phone into for vibration and chaffing protection inside the case. Or use on of the closed cell cushioned sleeves that sometimes new purchase electronics come in.

Yes I do recommend and would buy again, from REI.
