Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
I liked the look of this watch: athletic, yet somewhat feminine. Wore it every day for just about everything. It worked well & did everything it should UNTIL the strap began to get progressively looser.
This happens on a lot of sports watches, so at first I wasn't alarmed. But then on closer inspection I noticed that the strap was loosening AT ITS ATTACHMENTS TO THE WATCH. Eventually the watch started popping off the strap, and since it did not have pins as part of its design, the whole shebang had to be discarded because of strap malfunction: WHAT A WASTE!

Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
Loved the watch, but within one year I was really disappointed. The face would usually have moisture in it and I wouldn't be able to read anything. The band broke easily around the side buttons.

Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
I love this watch, I wear it when I ride, jog, swim, cook, work...I never take it off. I've abused it pretty badly and it doesn't even have a scratch. I've had it for 6 months and I can't imagine needing to get another one for a long time.

i love the watch...all it's functions, it's also reliable...great size for my small wrist.
BUT...
the plastic casing around the watch face overstretches and comes apart. Eventually the band breaks at the casing.

My daughter and I both purchased this watch. Both watches fell apart within a few months. I was very disappointed.

Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
I loved this watch. Great combination of style and practicality. Fit my small wrist without dwarfing it. Held up while swimming, at the water park, wherever. UNTIL..... the band began to stretch. Now I've developed a habit of checking the watch every hour or two and pushing the band back on - if I don't, eventually the watch face falls out of the band. I definitely would not recommend this watch because of the problems with the band that eventually render it unusable.

Loved the watch functions but the band eventually stretched to the extent the watch can't be worn.

Don't buy this piece of junk!! I wore it everyday for about 9 months, but band eventually broke in multiple places. The design is such that you can't replace the band, so you're left with a useless watch head. My friend had this watch also, and the EXACT same thing happened to hers. It's too bad because it's quite a nice watch until it falls apart.

Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
I bought this watch in Dec 2009. In Aug of 2010 I went swimming with the kids. After playing around for 30 minutes, the face of the watch got water in it somehow. I never touched a button and I know I did not surpass 100m. I tried to return it to REI, but they did not take it.They said that maybe I touched the buttons underwater. I mean I understand, it's not their REI product. It's a Timex. So I then, stupidly bought another Timex. Last week, March 2011, I worked out and I took off the watch beforehand. When I finished, I put the watch back on. I was sweaty, but thought nothing of it. The watch got moisture in it again. No pool, just my second-hand sweat. I put the watch in silica in hopes of drying it out. Nothing. Another [$]down the drain. The watch would never survive with a real triathlete. It's just a piece of junk with a really pretty wrapper.I tried to give this watch ZERO stars, but the website would not let me.

Comments about Timex Ironman 50-Lap Sleek Digital Watch - Women's:
I have bought my wife three of these from the REI Attic. Like everyone else's experience, all three of them have failed in the band. One also failed in the backlight. If I were not able to pick them up super cheap as returned goods, I would not buy them.
I suppose it is good business for Timex, everyone buys one because they look good, then they like it enough that when it breaks one year later they must buy another.
That is a far cry from the Timex of yester-year. Twenty years ago I found a Timex watch on the bottom of a lake when canoeing in Yellowstone. I dove down and retrieved it; i have no idea how long it had been there, but it was still ticking, and still working fine when I gave it away ten years ago!
