Comments about Wilderness Systems Zephyr 16 Kayak:
I'm coming from a 14ft. Dagger and decided it was time for a slightly bigger boat as we kayak camp and I needed a little more room for gear. I tried this boat at a lake demo and fell in love with it. It actually spit me out twice as I tried to find my point of no return. It's much more challenging then my Dagger and edges much better. I'm a river paddler and just had it out on the Mississippi and it cut through the water like a breeze. Even though the water was bit rough and it was a windy day, with the skeg down I didn't have any problems, the boat tracked great. The cockpit is easy in and easy out, with good padding, adjustable thigh pads and a comfortable seat.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Zephyr 16 Kayak:
I've been on a 9' sit on top for years, then bought the Zephyr for longer trips. This boat is a bullet! It has good stability and tracks well, especially with the drop skeg. The prow cuts through waves cleanly, the hull sheds water quickly without losing speed and the Phase 3XP outfitting is comfortable. I'm a little dissappoitned in the plastic footbraces; they seem stable enough, but I'm trying to get the hang of adjusting them while on the water without pulling my spray skirt and reaching inside the boat. Overall, I love this kayak; she's very fast and handles both glassy and choppy water well.
