Comments about Lafuma Extreme +30 Sleeping Bag - Long - '07 Closeout:
I can't believe how light this bag is for the price! Plus it has tons of room. I'm 6'0" 230lbs and I have all kinds of room in it. And when I zip it up with my girlfriend's bag I can practically lay sideways. She definitely can... of course she's only 5'2".
Plus it's warm! We've been out camping in northern Minnesota eight times now with these bags and haven't been chilly once. Some nights it was only 20 degrees.
It also stuffs easily into it's sack and takes up less than 1/2 of the room in my sleeping bag compartment in my backpack.
Really great bag for the price. I haven't had any problems with it and don't foresee any... unless it falls apart in the near future, but so far, so good!

Ive had this bag for a while and I use it mainly on Catalina Island, Ca all year long. It only drops to about 45 degrees Fahrenheit there and I end up being pretty toasty. I did take it to Big Bear where the temperature dropped below 20 degrees and it got a bit chilly. I wouldn't take this bag to the snow or somewhere with sever cold. However, everyone comments on how small it packs down and it weighs almost nothing. Great bag for price and works really well.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme +30 Sleeping Bag - Long - '07 Closeout:
This bag packs super small and light, but is not very warm...the 30+ degree rating is overly optimistic. Also feels a little restrictive in leg room. If a small pack size is more important to you than comfort this is a great bag. If not, i would only recommend it for warm-weather camping.

I've taken this sleeping bag out several times now. At about 30-35 deg, I am still cold even with a liner and clothes on. Definitely a warm weather bag. Cheap and packs small though.

So I haven't used the bag yet. I'll have to update this review once I actually put it to use. Initial impression: I like the lightweight material although if you're planning on camping any other time besides the summer this is not the bag for you. It fits my needs perfect though.
I'm 5'9" and 125 lbs. and this bag has plenty of room to move around in.

I have used this for several nights this year. I have been out at 35 degrees and woke up warm. I did not want to get out but the call of nature forced me out into the cold. The zipper has snagged a couple of times, but not a major problem

I purchased this bag last year and immediately took it out in what was initially planned to be 40 degree weather trip..conditions changed (as you they do in the GSMNP)...November at 5,000 feet in Smokies...turned to winter quickly with 8" of snow. The temperature dropped to mid 20's at night. The bag kept me alive, but that is all I can say. A Nalgene bottle of water was frozen solid beside my head when I awoke.
Bitterly cold night in this bag. Friends had similar rated synthetic filled bags by other MFG and they were warm.
Again, I tried the bag in May...upper 40's at night...comfortable, but certainly not too hot. Not miserable, but not really comfortable.
Couldn't buy a new bag and took it car camping in October. 38 degree temperature nights...used inside a tent with a heater. You would think that would work...NOPE...still very COLD nights....Do you see a theme??
For Warm weather...It is a very functional bag for the price...Hey, we all have budgets.
Don't try to use in cool to cold weather, you will not like this bag. It is a 45 degree bag. It's just that simple.

Its been a long time since I have camped, and my wife has never been. I picked up a L and a R of these in order to fit our 10 month old son between us. There was plenty of room, the temp probably only got down into the low 50's but my wife was warm and comfortable and the little man slept great. They store pretty small and are light. Thanks to these bags, a T3 dome tent, and a couple thermarest mats, I will be able to get out there a lot more with my family.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme +30 Sleeping Bag - Long - '07 Closeout:
Ok I read some of the other reviews before I purchased this bag and I was a little concerned with those who said it wasn't warm enough. I'll describe the equipment I had in play and you decide if it would be warm enough for you. I had an old Eureka tent with a good fly, but barely a 3-season tent. I had a sheet of mylar film under my thermarest sleeping pad. I was wearing a pair of cheap tights and a two shirts (one short sleeve, one long) when I climbed into bed on a windy night in the mid 30s. Before long I had to lose one shirt. I never zipped the mummy hood up as tight as it could go because I was slightly sweaty all night long. If you're going to sleep under the stars in the 30s this may not be the bag, but inside my tent, this bag was da bomb. I may buy another at this price.
I checked "Compression Sack Needed" but it is more desired. This bag packs down pretty well in the standard bag, but a compression sack will give you another half cubic foot.

For the price, this is a great small and lightweight bag. I agree, however, that the +30 rating isn't accurate. I will gladly use this as an great light bag, for temperatures not much below 40, even with an additional liner.
