Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock XL Trekking Poles - Pair:
I BOUGHT THIS POLE FOR A FRIEND OF MINE. HE LOVES IT! HE HAS TRIED THOSE FLICK LOCK POLES IN THE PAST AND THIS DOESNT EVEN COMPAIR. JUST HAND TIGHTEN AND YOUR OFF! NO WORRIES ABOUT SLIPPAGE OR THE LOCK OPENING ON A STEEP DESCENT. HE FELT SAFE A SECURE USING THE POLES.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock XL Trekking Poles - Pair:
Purchased these poles after hearing from numerous people of all ages how much they will help relieve joint stress when hiking. Well, they were ALL exactly right! The difference at the end of the day is amazing. I am looking forward to my next hike in Yosemite next week and going farther longer with these poles.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock XL Trekking Poles - Pair:
I've used Leki's Super Makalus for years, but recently left them behind at a campsite. I tried the Thermolites because they weigh less and collapse to a shorter length. I really wanted to like these poles. However, I noticed within seconds that they vibrate when I plant them, meaning I could feel the metal vibrating in both hands with almost every stride. This was irritating, so I have returned them.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock XL Trekking Poles - Pair:
I have knee and ankle problems. Going downhill on hikes is rough on me. These things are a leg saver for downhill hiking. I love them. I love the shocks, and they are light. The extended grips are great too.
The only thing I wish they made more comfy are the straps. I can see that they might start digging into my hands on long hikes. I generally wear gloves if I use poles, but softer straps are just nice to have. Other than that, these are awesome.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock XL Trekking Poles - Pair:
First, for anyone who hasn't tried trekking poles, I can only say that you should. I resisted for years and now feel foolish for having done so. Trekking poles really do help you hike longer, reduce stress on feet and knees, and provide added stability on difficult terrain.
These poles, in particular, are great. During a 2-week trip to Alaska, I used (and abused) them on rocks, ice, snow, etc. They were always comfortable, solid and reliable.
