Comments about REI Multi-Tool Deluxe:
C'mon, REI, you can do a lot better than this. Weak little tiny blades with poor locking mechanism. "Cute" scissors and screwdriver inside the way-too-bulky handle. To its credit, good color scheme and at least the knives open without having to open the whole contraption (an old Leatherman design flaw), but I expect something a lot more functional from REI.

Comments about REI Multi-Tool Deluxe:
For car camping or in the garage this thing would be underweight. I was looking for a multitool with real pliers and scissors to replace a lost swiss knife. This thing weighs less than my swiss, has spring open pliers, a sharp small blade, plus small scissors perfect for cutting nails, cordage, and repair patches.
And it was on sale for a great deal. Only thing i cant comment on is durability as I just bought it.

Comments about REI Multi-Tool Deluxe:
I was looking for a replacement for a swiss tool that I lost. My only requirement was I wanted both scissors and pliers. This thing is lighter than my swiss, has pliers that grip like a normal set of pliers, small sharp scissors that are perfect for cutting patches, moleskin, and cordage. The small knife is really sharp and a good backup to a larger blade, and just a couple other handy items that dont add a lot of unneeded weight. I will say the saw looks useless other than for really small jobs. As long as it proves itself for durability, should be a permanent member in my pack.
