Comments about Vasque Velocity VST Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Once these broke in they were so comfy I didn't want to take them off my feet. After only 2 months, however, the squeak (which other reviewers mentioned) turned into the rubber off the bottom of the shoe (back near the heal) coming off the midsole. Basically there's a giant bubble underneath each heal where the sole is separating.
I haven't been beating these shoes up despite wearing them a lot over the last 2 months so they SHOULD NOT be falling apart already. I was willing to overlook the fact that the mesh was ripping since I could chalk that up to scuffing against occasional rocks but the soles just should not come apart this way.
Vasque used to be my go-to brand when it came to hiking shoes. I still have an old pair of Sundowners that I've owned for nearly 15 years. What's happened to the quality!? I will be returning these shoes asap.

Comments about Vasque Velocity VST Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
A great lighter version from the past Velocity model that runs a bit larger. I take a 9W in the old Velocity and in this shoe I take an 8.5M. Toe box is nice and wide, too. This shoe is great for trail, field/grass running especially under 10 mile runs. On more technical trails I felt the rocks and roots much more compared to the older, thicker soled, Velocity. These shoes still feel stable and supportive (just not as much). They also don't have as much traction on wet rocks as the older version. Arch-wise, the most supportive is the old Velocity, then this VST model, followed by the least arch support in the Blurs. I will use the VST for shorter runs and races and stick to the older Velocity model for longer trail marathons, etc. Choice is personal of course, a bit of extra weight and stability or lighter-weight and less sole thickness.

Comments about Vasque Velocity VST Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I'm a vasque buyer. Always have a pair in my closet. This shoe is excellent for trail hiking but less comfortable for trail running or road running. Less cushion feel (more hard on the feet) than other vasques I've had. Excellent for rainy weather for it keeps toes dry and warm. I wouldn't get these for trail running but would try for another vasque shoe.

Just got these so we'll see about the squeak everyone's complaining about. But I have to say, I have a bruised heel that has taken forever to heal, and I put these shoes on and was suddenly no longer in pain. Seriously. Amazing. I took them off and it hurt again. I never want to take these off!!!
BTW, I wear orthotics and these shoes have a truly neutral arch if you remove their insoles, so they're perfect for orthotics.

Squeaky w/each step. Too noisy when checking on patients on night shift.
Am returning shoes.

Comments about Vasque Velocity VST Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I loved the fit of this shoe and even got used to the wacky color combination. I wore them happily on trail hikes (even during my son's 23 hour labor!) for 2 months, then they started to squeak - so much so that people would look at my feet in the grocery store. I could live with the squeak, but then the heal started to squish like water was captured between the sole and footbed.
