The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
I'm the type who usually wears my running shoes for whatever activity I participate in. Knowing that hiking 16+ miles with a 4800 ft gain I figured I should probably get a shoe that was made for hiking. After making the poor employee gather more than five different shoes in different sizes I ended up with this one. The shoe has a natural rocking design in the last which was noticable in the store and not very noticable after a couple miles. I have an average width foot so I chose this shoe because it didn't seem so wide as some of the other hiking shoes I tried on which I think helped the last 200 yards at the near vertical cable and plank portion of the hike. The shoes felt very secure on my feet and my foot did not slip within the shoe once. The next day I was sore all over except for my feet and I know had I worn my running shoes, my feet would have been sore as well.
Oh, and the goretex made them a bit heavier but well worth it because it helped keep out the dust and water that I encountered on some of the trails.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
I bought a pair of Gortex Siren's a couple of years ago for day hiking. These shoes are marketed as cross-trainers but I use them exclusively for walking/day hikes. I picked them because I wanted a lightweight hiking shoe to carry on the plane for my trip to Kauai. I used them on the Kalalau Trail and they held up surprisingly well. The vibram soles gripped quite well on the varied terrain (steep and rooty) and my feet stayed dry in the muddy parts. I didn't have any problems with my ankles, however, a boot would have offered more stability for the technically challenging parts of the trail.
Even with the Gortex lining, Sirens feel much lighter than other non-Gortex hiking shoes. The cushioning is great for shorter hikes, however, I did notice hotspots on longer hikes ( 7 + miles), though I never got any blisters. I eventually bought Super Feet inserts but they made the shoe much tighter and I had to loosen up the laces to accomodate them.
The tread on my Sirens are now wearing out so I may be buying a 2nd pair. I recently bought a pair of the Chameleons but am returning them because they're basically the same as the Siren but felt less breathable and heavier.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
I have owned these shoes for a little over three months now and I have been nothing but happy with them. I have worn them on numerous long hikes, short hikes, walks in the rain and in some very muddy conditions. These shoes make my feet happy, dry and warm. They are comfortable, provide stability and are waterproof - what more do you want in a pair of hiking shoes? I love these shoes.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
Ordered 1/2 size larger since this runs small and reviews confirm it. Turns out still too small. Tried full size larger but that ended up with loose heel. Tried 2 more in half size larger and finally got one that was comfortable. I have other Merrills with the Qform and find that the sizing is smaller than avg and fluctuates even within the line for the same size.
e.g. sandals, boat shoes, Siren reg,Siren Goretex all range from 1/2 size to full size different and all purchased in same year from different stores.
Picked this for lightweight trailrunner. Will not order online again since size can vary pair to pair.
Like the qform. Not sure if the size inconsistencies are from fakes but then it doesn't explain how 2-3 pairs of the same size can all vary in length in the same store. Prefer Salamon XCR now since better value and consistency (kevlar no lace system, stable). Was hoping these could be alternative for city walking and casual running.

I also have a brown lime pair of these shoes. I bought these for walking and they have not disappointed. I love them because they are functional as well as stylish for downtown. They certainly are not the most rugged of the lowcut shoes available, but they seem to be holding up as well as my old north face ultras. And I have worn them almost everyday since Sept 2007. They breath fantastically well and are comfortable with a range of sock thicknesses. Add in the XCR and Vibram soles and you have the perfect shoe. I have just purchased a brown orange pair and have noticed a change in the fabric. I believe it will be more rugged than the brown lime pair (however I do not have any holes in my brown lime pair). Lastly the sizing ...in my running shoes I usually wear a 9.5 or 41 and in these a 41 is a size 10.

I purchased these shoes when I began training for a 50 mile adventure race. I have trained in them for 4 months and they are amazing. I bike in them, hike and run in them, can climb on a basic level in them, and they are waterproof so great for the canoeing leg of the race as well. Best shoe purchase I have made to date.

I tried on several brands, and styles of shoes before I found these. They are lightweight, comfortable, and supportive. I have narrow feet side to side and top to bottom, and these feel great. I'm about to buy another pair for when these wear out!

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
Have had the shoes for 2 months and wear them daily. Have used them in rainy and dry conditions, mostly on gravel roads with varying grades and off-road in forested areas. Great traction, great stability and the only place my feet have gotten wet is when water came over the top of the shoe - never from the shoe itself. LOVE these shoes and will be buying a second pair soon - just wish there was more choice in colors.

I was told to buy this brand and when I went to the site I saw these and went to the store that day to buy them. I go hiking in Montana and have destroyed standard brand name shoes. These are built better then my other shoes and have waterproofing that I tested today. I have narrow feet so these also fit better than most conventional shoes. I will continue to buy this brand.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport Gore-Tex XCR Cross-Training Shoes - Women's:
This shoe leaks, it did not live up to its claim of water prof. It did not hold up well either, breaking down much faster than the similar Keens I wore before this pair for causal/light hiking. On the ups side, the shoe was comfortable from the day of I bought them until the day I take them back (next trip to REI) and fairly attractive too.
