Comments about REI Quantum Computer Brief:
I would do two things to make this product better:
1. The outside mesh pocket designed for carrying a beverage container is inadequate. Make it big enough to really hold a 1 liter Nalgene bottle. In fact I'm not really sure what the zippered fold out pocket on the other end of the bag is supposed to accomplish.
2. Make it so the shoulder strap can be removed.
That's it. Those two improvements would make all the difference.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Brief:
Like the other reviewer I searched high and low for a good briefcase that had the capacity and organization I needed with the professional look I could afford. With most briefcases selling upwards of [$]this bag for [$] was a great buy.The other review sums it up very well. My only two main additions would be that this bag has a ton of little options to help you stay organized and is very easy to access everything, though I would like to see more than 2 slots for pens, but you can use the small pockets inside for additional storage. Also, the specs list it as being able to carry a 15" laptop. I checked with one of my work computers as the spaced looked larger than 15" and it will hold a 17" laptop.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Brief:
Surprisingly, I like this bag! My old one of 10 years broke and I needed to find something new. So many bags are just these messenger bags with no pockets or hard to access. or they have a laptop seciton that so hard and clunky it makes the bag uncomfortable. After months of looking I picked this up and have been a very happy camper.one main divided pocket. One front 'space' with lots of pen and business card pockets, zippered compartment, big pocket, and still room to 'throw' small things in. Outer pocket for a book (but not a big one - that outer pocket could be bigger). rear zip can hold papers.. Laptop compartment is less bulky than other bags with laptop sections - I end up using it as another pocket to keep files in. (it's stiff yet flexible, with eggshell foam inside. great for a laptop, but doesn't add a lot of bag weight). Phone pocket on one side, water bottle pocket on other.. Shoulder strap is surprisingly comfortable. Only quirk - the main zippers seem 'lose' but function well. [...] so...I'm a very happy camper all around.

This is a great briefcase. I take exception to the previous reviewers. Why would I want to lug around a 1 liter Nalgene on the end of this briefcase? That's overkill. My cycling water bottle fits perfect. Or, one of those smaller water bottles will work. Also, mine does sit upright. I guess if you have it loaded in a certain way, it'll tip over.
I reviewed a lot of cases. This one was perfect. I can easily get to the laptop without opening up another flap. The case is not over burdened with too may pockets. The ones it has are just right to carry the essentials.
Great case!
Comments about REI Quantum Computer Brief:
The bag does well as far as holding files, a computer, power cords, etc.
Besides my previous pro-con comments I have one more item to add about the shoulder strap:
It needs to be a bit wider and a bit more stout. It crumples where it attaches to the rings.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Brief:
I loved this case when I saw it in the store, it has great features, and looks very stylish. I really liked everything about this bag, the price is great. Lots of pockets, inside and out for cell phone, pens etc. But, I am returning it as it has some serious design flaws. It will not stand upright on it's own, (as displayed on the above product diagram), in fact it tips over with equal distribution of files/items on both sides. Standing upright is important. Also, it does not hold it's shape well, so files get a little bent inside. I went to store to see if the other ones did that too, and sure enough, not only did they tip over but some of them had seriously warped undersides. I was disappointed to have to return this bag. I thought I had found the right one, at the right price.
