Comments about Saris Thelma Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
Great but does not work well with 29 inch wheels. The system will hold a bike with 29ers, but will not lockout the from holding wheel. This means two plastic straps are left to hold something very near and dear.

Comments about Saris Thelma Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
This is a solid rack at a good price. It is light and easy to install/remove and store. Be aware that bikes with permanent fenders probably won't work because of the front wheel holder.
Other than that, a great bike carrier that is compact and looks great.

Comments about Saris Thelma Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
Best Bike rack ever designed. Some difficulty assembling, but the overall design and functionality is superb. It is an eye catcher with and without a bike attached. Many have asked, "what is that?" Easy to load a bike or two especially when you have a Men's and Woman's bike. No hanging and no bungie cords needed. Two straps secure the bikes nicely. Best price found on REI with store pickup.

Comments about Saris Thelma Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
I was very excited when I bought this light weight rack to fit my relatively small AWD Dodge Caliber with 11/4" hitch. I folowed the assembley direction step by step. At the end of the instruction in one of the lines it was written to check compatibility with car. With fear I went on line to check on the compatibility issue to find after complicated search that it would not fit my car. I said to my self that it wouldn't be a big deal I would use it for my other car. Honda Odessey van, or even the SUV pilot, CRV. But to my greatest surprise it didn't fit either. I tried different other brand and models of cars but it worked for none. I went ahead and tried it on my car to see why it wouldn't fit. It did fit but the only problem was the rack wouldn't fold up as it was touching the trunk and scratching the paint. I couldn't understand why the manufacurer didn't make it universal by making the hitch tong longer by one or two inches to fix that simple problem.[...] I don't want any one to fall in the same trap or mistake. If this rack is left unfolded when not carrying a bike it is inviting any passing by person or car to hit it and break it as it is made from plastic.

Comments about Saris Thelma Hitch Rack - 2 Bike:
I purchased this because my Yakima rack could not adequately transport my dual-suspension mountain bike. I actually got the three-bike version, rather than the two. I had a choice between this and the heavier-duty, but more expensive CycleOn, which only carries two bikes in standard configuration, but is expandable to four bikes with an expensive add-on.
Anyway, I felt a lot more comfortable with this rack as it holds the bikes in a "tray", rather than suspending heavy mountain bikes from a bar.
I also have a beach cruiser with permanent fenders, and this rack is not compatible (which I admittedly knew prior to purchase).
This rack does shake a bit when fully loaded, but it does a pretty good job just the same.
It's a bit troublesome to hook up to a vehicle because of the very nature of the rack (make sure you do it in the day time), but once it's on, it's easyish to use.
One last dual-caveat: full-mountain or downhill bikes WILL NOT work with this rack as advertised. If you have tires greater than 2.1 width, you'll have to deflate them almost completely to use this rack. Also, if you have a large-size mountain bike (mine is a 21.5) you will not be able to use the cinch straps provided (they are too short). I got a couple of those straps used for the old-school toe clip pedals, and they work perfectly (for the rear tire).
