Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
I have used this light jacket for the last few weeks in sub-30 degree weather running outside in the hills and it works great. It feels really thin, but keeps you warm and dry and lets you breath. A perfect jacket for hiking and trail running.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
Great for running and bike riding on those chilly and/or wet days we have here in the Seattle area. It is amazingly warm and feels great when you first get going yet breathable so that when you get warmed up its not too warm. Also balls up pretty small and fits into a camelback pocket so it’s there if you need it

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
The fleet jacket is the perfect modern windshirt. It weighs nothing (4oz), is super breathable and water repellent and doesn't cost a fortune like Patagonia's Houdini Jacket and even has a pocket you can trust your keys to. REI definitely got right with this piece of gear. It is great for running, trail running, hiking or anywhere you need a light jacket to cut the wind or keep the drizzle off. It so light you will barely notice you have it on.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
I like fit and weight of the jacket . It works okay in light rain, but I wouldn't want to wear it in a downpour. It does not breathe on me. After a walk (not even a run), the inside of the jacket will be damp with perspiration because the holes don't provide enough ventilation and the fabric does not breathe.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
I bought this to run in for the colder evenings. While it keeps me a little warmer (I am not expecting miracles given the lightweight nature of this product), it doesn't breathe as well as I wished it would. The perforations don't work well enough for me. I usually end up with clammy/sweaty arms... Eventually everything sticks to me, even with a technical shirt underneath it all.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
It's not the lightweight rain jacket I was looking for. It's not waterproof. It performed well in light sprinkles, but in the first heavy rain of the autumn it took about five minutes to start soaking through. It's not warm, which makes sense if it's intended for running. But I couldn't see wearing this in any kind of weather without adding some kind of waterproofing treatment.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket for running on cool and mildly windy days. Overall I like the jacket. It is very light and fits over a fleece vest nicely. The big con is that it is not breathable enough for running. I come back pretty damp. It would be fine for light activities like walking.

Comments about REI OXT Fleet Jacket - Men's:
I originally purchased this jacket for running. I would want a thin layer of protection from the wind/cold, and I figured this would work well.
The only drawback to this jacket is that it doesn't ventilate that well for me. I also generate quite a bit of heat and sweat when I get going, so maybe it's just not adequate for me.
More recently I have been using this jacket for bike riding. Commuting in the morning is a little cold, but as the day heats up, I don't want a thick jacket to lug around. If anything, this thing is so light and packs up small enough for me to stash in a cargo pocket.
Certainly useful, and light enough to always have around.
