It may be kid-size, but it's not small on heart. Marin Bayview Trail features the same gear and functionality found on quality adult bikes.

  • 6061 aluminum frame is double-butted to strengthen joints against abuse; it's also lightweight, so young arms and legs move it easily
  • Spinner Grind front fork provides 70mm of travel to soften hops over curbs and off those forbidden jumps junior tries when you're not looking
  • The beefy Truvativ crankset makes climbing easy and scoots your child along swiftly
  • Triple chainrings in the front and the Shimano 7-speed cassette in back combine for 21 speeds total
  • Shimano shifters provide intuitive shifting action; linear pull hand brakes provide controlled deceleration
  • Kenda tires deliver a stable ride and are suitable for both on- and off-road travel

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.
