Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I would have to say that these pants are the best pants that I have owned. I have used two pairs of these pants almost exclusively for the past two years and they have been excellent.
The only complaint, as I have seen others have found as well, is the rear seam. This I have had to have had sewn three times total for both pants in the past two years.
Besides this, however, I can find no other fault. The pockets are deep for traveling or hiking, large enough to hold a wallet and passport, a nice zippered pouch for coins, and a comfortable look and feel.
I intend on purchasing a few more pairs, although the ones I have still look and are working great, just in case The North Face decides to discontinue these.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by myself!

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I own two pair of these pants, learned quickly with the first pair to NEVER dry these pants in a dryer, even on low heat, fortunately they didn't shrink too much and after some use stretched back out. I've owned one pair for two years and wear them at least once a week (sometimes more) and have gone on every camping/hiking trip I've made and I haven't had any of the quality issues that I've read here, these pants are just as tough as denim jeans, but they're light and will fit in a small area in a pack. I love 'em and will buy more.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I own two pairs of these pants. They fit very well and dry extremely quickly I usually only take 1 pair with me on a weekend camping trip, since if I fall in the river, I know I can dry these pants in about 20 minutes. They are also fairly stylish and I sometimes wear them out. They're very comfortable and I love wearing them around the house. My only problem is that the seams on the crotch seem to be coming loose (after wearing them a total of about 3 days on a backpacking trip). They haven't fallen apart, but it concerns me that the pants may split after another couple weeks of use. The fabric also seems to change after washing a bit, and they "pill up" slightly. I still love wearing them though.

Second complaint on the same pair of pants. After sewing up the butt seam, now the waist snap has pulled out. For[$], this is a very poor product. A joke.

I had a pair for 6 Mo. Lots of abrasion wear and the seat ripped out. My REI brand Convertibles seem to be more durable... NF was very friendly and offered to repair them.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I bought thse because I could wear them to work as pants them take the legs off for the weekend. I figured "North Face has a reputation for quality" and that the pants would last for years. Wrong. Shortly after the warranty was up, the crotch seam in both pants started to come undone. It's not noticeable so I can still wear them, but I'm terribly disappointed. I've *never* had a pair of pants do this to me.

Used to be my favorite but quality has slipped a lot. Seat keeps tearing out. Now looking for a substitute.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
Very good hiking pants in warm weather but I also wore them while it was snowing with temps at the freezing line and they kept me comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to wear them cross-country skiing in much colder weather with a good base layer. Plenty of pockets and things like keys, wallets, and pocket trash stay secure due to good pocket closures. Good fabric and construction for outdoor use. These pants also pack nicely for travel.
Only thing I'd improve is to move the cargo pockets along the sides of the thighs instead of towards the front (I cram my cargo pockets when hiking and find it annoying to walk when the pockets are loaded just above my knees. Also, the drier shrunk a little length and some circumfrance in the thighs but REI exchanged them for another pair and I'll either air dry from now on or use more caution in keeping the drier temp cool.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I loved these things. Great pants if you start out your hike in the cool morning and need shorts about midday. They aren't lined, so don't think that these will keep you warm in temps under 40, but they definitely keep the wind off of you when you're stuck on top of the mountain. Plenty of pockets and nice 1/4 zip on the bottom of the legs.
