Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
As I put these pants on, I thought I had a perfect fit and a perfect look. I did, up to the middle of my butt. The waist however was 4-6 inches too large, which allows the pants to sag in the crotch area. The legs are as tight as I would want them, so a smaller size is not an option. I also bought the Escalante pants and they were a much better fit. The material and stretch of these pants is wonderful, and I like other aspects of them so much that I may have them altered (Active plus size pants are SOOOO hard to find!). If you are familiar with the Right Fit Plus size system, I would NOT recommend these to someone with the blue curvy fit, for the yellow fit they should be perfect!

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
This is one of the first pairs of pants I've owned from REI, and I really like them. They are seriously no-hassle. They're lightweight, they dry quickly, wrinkles fall out of them immediately, and I like the Sharkskin color (which is a little darker in person than it looks online). They're nice and stretchy and super easy to move around in. The pockets rule.
I do have some quibbles about the fit, but they're the same issues I have with most pants in general. The waist is too big by several inches. It's not show-your-undies gapey, but there's definitely some built-in air conditioning for your lower back if you're curvy. Also, I am fairly short, and I had to hem these by almost two inches.
Overall, the pants are functional and attractive. I'd recommend them to others and will probably buy another pair.

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
I travelled around Africa in these pants for the past 3 months. They were my go-to pants, old faithful as I affectionately refer to them. They were easy to clean, quick drying, looked good even after being balled up in the bottom of my backpack. They kept me cool and protected from the African sun. They were easy to move in, hike in, climb in. I did everything from shopping to construction to a day at the beach in these pants. Only sad thing, one of the buttons on the side pocket fell off after 2 months of use. Overall, very handy piece of clothing that I found indispensible during my travels.

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
I'm a runner and tend to have difficulty finding pants that will accommodate my larger thighs and smaller waistline. These fit GREAT! Enough room in the thigh, no gapping at my waist, and the rise fits my 5' 3 1/4" frame well. Thank you, REI! You do not disappoint! P.S. The "sharkskin" color is on sale, and it matches the REI Zion Bucket Hat VERY well!

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
I love these pants! I actually bought them in the store; I was looking for a pair of pants that would be versatile on trips, and these definitely fit the bill. I can easily wear them with my chacos to cultural sites during the day, and transition seamlessly to night. They are lightweight, dry quickly and stylish--my travel trifecta.

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
What is worse than flood pants? FLARED flood pants! These are advertised as 32 inch inseam and are easily only 30 inch.
The fit of the rest of them and feel of fabric are fine, but don't wish to look like a foolish geek in flared pants 2" too short! Returned these ASAP. Had these had the ability to cinch the hems to the boots (velcro or otherwise), I might have kept these.
I would only recommend these to a SHORT friend. (30" inseam or less). And what the heck does a hiker need with a FLARED hiking pant?

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
I wore these pants three times in Peru from the desert through the mountains and then into the jungle. The seams started to come apart after one wash. It was nice that they dried quickly and they layered nicely when we were in cool weather.

Comments about REI Sahale Pants - Women's Extended Sizes:
The fit is perfect for my body type. I'm not very curvy, so the waist fits great for me. Typically if I want pants to fit my waist, the pants are too big in the hips. Not these pants. Also, the 32" inseam is perfect for me. I usually need a 33" inseam in casual pants due to fabric shrinkage. This fabric doesn't shrink.
Over all these pants offer a great combination of comfort (stretch fabric and perfect fit), style (pocket type and positioning), and function (no ironing and wrinkles fall out).
I only wish they were available in khaki and black.
