        I was suprised to see negative reviews of this sock - especially as I was on the website to buy more. I bought a pair this winter and these midweight socks have performed for everything from skiing to biking and hiking. Yes, they have a tight-ish fit but for someone with a narrow foot this eliminates the typical folds of fabic around the insole and ankle and the blisters that result. I've had no problem with hot spots even after a really long and wet day of hiking (usually an issue for me). I'm buying more to take on a long weekend of backpacking - in other words, I like these socks better than any in the drawerful I currently own.

          I've worn these socks a few times now, and they're not very good. They are not as stretchy as the previous (non-eco friendly) REI socks, so they don't fit as well. The fabric is also a bit rough, which makes them hard to pull on and off. They don't feel so great to the touch, either, although my feet don't notice too much. Not recommended.

                  I wore these socks once a week+ for awhile. They were great, then began to pill and wear in the heel after about 3 months. I liked the eco aspect of the socks, but did not wear like the other hiking socks I own, particularly the wool socks.
