Comments about Burley Ski Kit:
OK--first things first--I have not used the product out in the snow, but did have a chance to compare both Burley & Chariot XC Ski Kits in an [...]. Chariot has had their kit available for 6-7 years, the Burley is new for '07. Both use similar equipment--trailer mounted via a quick release on a aluminum arm bolted to each ski & with harness aluminum poles attached to a hipbelt. Concerns with Burley's kit--round harness poles had too much play in their square attachments on the trailer creating a lot of 'slop' when pulling the trailer--Chariot's was firmer. The other issue was that when I attached the hipbelt to my waist, the trailer would droop forward & not lay level no matter what length the harness poles were set at--real issue for people of short stature such as myself. The Chariot, even though it sits a bit higher than the Burley, did not have that issue. I prefer the Chariot over the Burley. ***If you go with the Burley, remember it only works with '07 Burley trailers or newer!

Comments about Burley Ski Kit:
Burley ski kit is very similar to the Chariot ski kit except it uses quick-release lever ski attachments instead of the Chariot's push-button attachment. Burley's quick-release needed adjustment to fit & stay in the axle housing--once set, no problems. Liked the telescoping poles & hipbelt was comfy. Very easy to pull, best used on groomed trail or track. Both Burley & Chariots kits are expensive, but if you have the chassis already it does open you up to winter fun!

Comments about Burley Ski Kit:
Just took the kiddo out for the first day of xcountry in her burley and she had a blast! The set-up was easy. The poles are shaped well and fit together nice. They adjust to multiple lengths. I found I had the most control over the trailer when I had the length of the poles at their shortest. My skis never touched/mixed with those of the trailer. One review I have read says that the circular nature of the poles that connect to the trailer made it feel too flimsy. I disagree. There IS a very little bit of play between the circular poles and the square trailer connector piece, but it didn't make the trailer any harder to control or steer. The trailer rode much sturdier than I thought it was going to. I was impressed. The maiden voyage was on a nice bc tour on some old forest service roads in the Bitterroot Mountains. We were mostly on packed snow, with some nice powder at times. The trailer did great on both. It handled very well, was sensitive to my turns, and was very comfortable on both the climb and descent. (Be sure to give yourself some extra stopping time/distance on descents; the higher mass of the trailer/kiddo gives you much more momentum than you may expect.) Obviously, avoid overly steep hills. This thing ain't meant for downhill skiing after all. (I never fell, so I don't know if the trailer tips or not during falls.)The hip-belt is very comfy and felt great the entire day and the trailer itself actually held much more heat than we were expecting, which was nice for the little lady. With proper layering, she was toasty-warm all day. So far so good. Can't wait until tomorrow to get out again. Burley's attempt at a ski package: A-Feel free to email me if you have questions. I'd love to help you get the kids where they belong: OUTSIDE! :) [@]

Comments about Burley Ski Kit:
Excitedly rushed to store when I heard Burley was making a Ski Kit, bought first one in stock. Yet beforehand, I called Burley for reassurance that I had the right year to fit it (wrong!). Opened up at home, and said "this is it? for this price?" Nice looking skiis, unsure if they need the camber. Hardware looked kinda homebrewed. Upon assembly, noticed that I wasn't provided the extra D-shaped pin for pole attachments to trailer (make sure you have two on your trailer, or they put an extra in the box!!!). Then noticed I didn't have the right year after all. Now I must return it, bummer. Kind of glad though, looks like I can homebrew something similar for a fraction of the price. But if you have GUESSED the right year of your trailer, and you have the expendable cash, I'd say go for it.
