Comments about ProGold Prolink Chain Lube - 4 oz.:
I didn't use it long enough to judge its lubricating properties.
I live in an apartment and the oily odor was very apparent. If your bike lives in a garage this wouldn't be a problem.

Comments about ProGold Prolink Chain Lube - 4 oz.:
I've decided to run the gamet of lubes to see which one I like best. I used ProLink for 3 years before trying others. The only other one I've tried so far is Dumonde Tech Lite. Check it for my review. As far as ProLink it is the best so far! Collects little dirt and dust and lasts a whole lot longer than Dumonde. Works well in wet weather too. Only real complaint is the tip of the bottle. Would be nice if it were at more of a point, but the lube itself is really nice. Keeps things nice and quiet for a good amount of time before reapplication is needed. Will rate other lubes as I buy and try them. Ride On!!

Comments about ProGold Prolink Chain Lube - 4 oz.:
I bought this lube from REI and haven't looked back.
I can't believe the way the bike runs with this lube.
And the amazing thing was when I went to clean up my bike I noticed that there wasn't any dirt on the chain or cassette like when I used Finish Line so I am a believer of this product and have been using Pro Gold for about 3 months and what a difference you should definably try this lube.

Comments about ProGold Prolink Chain Lube - 4 oz.:
I was looking for a good all-around lube, which would work primarily on-road for chains and gears but also occassional off-road / dusty rides.
For off-road especially very dusty or muddy conditions I would have to say something like Pedro's Ice Wax or White Lightning are really hard to beat (I try to stay away from the wet lubes completely), but this ProGold is a great all-around chain lube.
A little pricey yes, but this is a decent sized bottle and the stuff goes a long way and doesn't build up or need to be constantly reapplied, so you can cut down your wait time to get back on the road or trail as well. Just apply (for chains, a few drops every inch or two is plenty), wait a minute to let dry, a quick wipe, run through the gears one time (old habit), and you're good to go.
For cables I actually have a tiny bottle of even more expensive specialty lubricant but I understand this will work for that as well, and I believe it. I've even used it on sticky derailleurs or brake mechanisms in a pinch. Good stuff and I'd probably buy it again for my all-around riding use.

Comments about ProGold Prolink Chain Lube - 4 oz.:
ProLink is a good lube for both chain and shifter assemblies. Just a drop at each joint, working in with shifting and chain rotating; then a rag to remove the excess. Keeps shifts and pedaling smooth and carefree. Does not attract or buildup dirt. Cleaner than light weight oil, but more expensive.
