    I was looking for a replacement for an old Swiss Army Renegade watch (also sold by REI), and decided to give this one a try. I have the version with the black dial, and I am very pleased.

    The large face is easy to read, and the watch is very handsome in a masculine sort of way. The resin band is extremely comfortable...not always the case for sports watches. I'm not a diver, so I can't comment on its appropriateness for that activity. But as an everyday watch, it's great.

    The one negative is the date window, which I find difficult to read. But then again, I'm well into my 50's and my eyes aren't what they used to be. But the large analog dial is really a pleasure.

    One thing to be aware of is that the watch arrives with the crown not screwed in. People experienced with diving watches will recognize the need to screw the crown in. But for the rest of us, it would have been nice to have been instructed to do so. Be warned...going into the water with the crown not screwed down will likely ruin this watch.

    I remember Timex watches from my youth as being ugly and cheap. Times have obviously changed. This watch is well-made, nice looking, and a lot for the money. I heartily recommend it.

      I cannot remember the last time I owned a Timex product. I might have to start looking. Seems very well made. Accuracy is within 1 second/week.
      Slightly heavy, but fully expected for a 200m watch. Band is comfortable with a unique way to "lock" the strap end so that it does not flap around. Light works very well. However, notwithstanding the light, I would have preferred better luminescence and a larger date box.
      That said, darn near perfect and exactly what I had hoped for.
