Comments about Columbia River Hammond A.B.C. E.R. Knife:
This is a great blade, no two ways about it. The real downside here is that the sheath it comes with leaves too much to be desired. The screws that keep the sheath together come loose on their own. I had mine in a pack for two days and lost three screws (which I recovered from the pack). I quickly realized that if the sheath comes apart while just sitting there, then I could not rely on it to keep the knife safely secured in my pack or anywhere else. This is a [$] knife that can be too easily lost. The packaging really makes a big deal about how cool this knife is and how versatile the sheath is, I just can't see spending money on or or having to potentially rely on a product that can be so easily lost. This is the second CRKT knife I bought, the first one broke after two weeks (I wasn't using it incorrectly either). [...]

Comments about Columbia River Hammond A.B.C. E.R. Knife:
I had intended this for my kayaking pfd, but as another reviewer commented, it is too big, heavy and the sheath makes it difficult. So I'll keep my Gerber there. However, I added one to my "duty" inflatable pfd belt, and have used it for many utilitarian purposes in on the water. Did add a wrist loop.
Just put one on my rescue pack shoulder strap.
As for the screws loosening - added Lock-tite, as per SOP...screws come loose, make it more difficult. And you must set the screw tightness to govern ease of blade release.

Comments about Columbia River Hammond A.B.C. E.R. Knife:
I got the knife to wear on my PFD in case of emergency. After paddling around Lummi for a couple of days, I pulled it out and found it was badly rusted!
I'm taking this one back - either I got a bad knife or this one is not designed to get wet!

Comments about Columbia River Hammond A.B.C. E.R. Knife:
Knife blade and handle is fine. The Sheath leaves much to be desired. All screws must be kept loose in order to retrieve the knife. Sheath is bulky.
I purchased this online intended for sea kayaking rescue use - once I received it, I realized that it is too big and bulky in general to be worn on a PFD.

Nice knife for water sports and more general use too. Grip is fairly comfortable but not as good as some other knives. Innovative sheath system provides tons of attachment and carry options.
