Comments about Zamberlan Tundra GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I hike up a very steep grade and of course down about 5 days per week. Approx 4 miles and longer hikes on the weekends from 6 to 20 miles. I have been using this specific boot for years. Was disappointed when my local REI quit stocking them... but was surprised and thrilled to find them on line. The pair I was using I had resoled many times and after 3-4 years of consistant hiking they were giving out... I happened to check on line and found them.... whahoo!! I need a more narrow heel so my boots dont slip and like the ample toe box.. some boots are so pointed and bother me.

Comments about Zamberlan Tundra GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I have been searching for a high quality and durable boot for hiking. I don't do overnight backpacking but regulary hike 11 miles in varying terrain. I am prone to foot problems so I need a supportive shoe and also have a narrow foot. So most boots are too wide for me...my foot slips and twists with my gait. I love my new boots. I 've used them in the rain and cold and hot summer temps. They are comfortable and I can adjust the laces so they fit my feet. Italy still knows how to make a quality good fitting shoe...I only wish REI carried more of the Zamberlan line.

When I put these on in the store they were the very last pair I tried after two hours of searching and I hit the jackpot. I wore them on a 6 mile hike right out of the box, no blisters, no chafing, no sore feet. Awesome buy.

Comments about Zamberlan Tundra GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I had a pair of these for about 5 years, wore them for school, light day hikes, then as time went forward, the Backcountry of some of our nations national parks for work. They held up surprisingly well considering they look more pretty than durable, I actually wouldn't have classified them as light hikers because they held up to distances, and terrain that destroyed other pairs of "backpacking" boots I've had recently. I used them until they pretty much fell apart. They are a great fit for me as I have a very narrow heel and foot that spreads out at the toe.
The only cons I had with them is that they weren't cut quite high enough for my weak ankles and as such didn't have quite as much ankle support as I would prefer, also, the toe isn't very protected from abrasion and even with additional waterproofing applied to them the wear on the toe allowed water seepage (and ultimately caused the boots to rot). But I've tried several different brands at this point, and have to say, these were the best boots I ever had.

My dog and I hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia during the winter - trail name Sixfeet. My one pair of Zamberlan boots lasted the entire way. I waterproofed them every three weeks and had no problems. The soles grip wet rocks, it was easy to knock snow off the boots, there was no break-in time and NO blisters from these boots. I recommend them very, very highly.

I got these boots after returning a pair of Asolo Strykers (too stiff and felt like restrictive moon boots) and a pair of Lowa Renegades (totally comfy but not stiff enough). Thank you REI Returns for putting up with people like me.
In any case, these boots are incredibly WELL-MADE. I've heard that Italy made great shoes, but honestly, the craftsmanship really is noticeable: well-made seams, incredibly deluxe leather, etc.
These boots were perfect for me because they were a good combination of stiffness (for my backpacking with up to 30 lbs) and flexibility (for full foot motion). The soles are just a wee bit flexible at the toe which allows for great toe grips and the ability to actually stand tippy-toe (can't do that well in stiff boots!) which helps with off trail scrambling if you're trying to ASCEND as well as move FORWARD.
Also, the fit of the boot really helps folks like me who have a narrow heel and wide toe box (like duck feet).
Definitely recommend these boots, despite the high price, they feel like they'll last a long while.

Great boots. Fit perfectly out of the box. Researched many options before selecting these and am happy with selection.

I "broke these boots in" on a fourty mile, four day trip to clear and open up a hunting trail. Luckily these boots needed no break in time except for one blister in the heel area. It rained the whole trip and these boots did well keeping out water. By the end of the fourth day, they were damp inside, but did relatively well. Has good traction and holds up well.
