Comments about Sherpani Wahoo Child Carrier - Special Buy:
This is the best child carrier ever! It's very stable while trying to insert my daughter and it's comfortable for her. She gets excited when we put her in there cuz she gets to go for a ride up high. The pocket is deep in back and holds quite a bit (extra diapers, wipes, food, bottles, extra clothes, etc). The other really cool thing about it is that it comes with a removable sunshade AND winter weather storm flaps. With other models you have to buy them separately. I think we will be using this pack for a long time.

Comments about Sherpani Wahoo Child Carrier - Special Buy:
Much more compact when stored than the Kelty carrier we already owned, so we started using this one for around town & on car trips when we didn't have a lot of space to spare. This pack also fits my 5'7" torso frame much better than the Kelty pack (seems made for a longer torso), but my 6'4" husband is still very comfortable & wears it all the time. I also like the rain/sun cover on the Wahoo better than the Kelty & I like the large storage pouch being below the child.

Comments about Sherpani Wahoo Child Carrier - Special Buy:
Definitely a lifesaver when needed, i think that could be said for almost any kid carrier though. they all seem to have the same function, they hold you child on your back. What separates them is the comfort for both the child and the adult using the carrier, number of pockets and practicality. My wife and i returned this for the kelty III because the stand tended to get in the way when in use as it does not collapse. we knocked our four year old on more then one occasion along with everything else at waist height. this pack is also less adjustable then the kelty III causing back pain shortly after using it. bottom line, you get what you pay for. cheers

Comments about Sherpani Wahoo Child Carrier - Special Buy:
We really like this. We bought this and the Rumba, tried both in our house, and kept this one. The Rumba has an adjustable torso and more cargo space; this has a fixed torso length, but my husband and I are similarly sized and we were both very comfortable wearing this pack. We decided not to pay extra for the adjustability of the Rumba since this one fit us great. We love the Wahoo. This has a good amount of cargo space: enough for a change of clothes, diapers and wipes, nalgenes, maps, lunches, etc. If we need to carry more (for a long dayhike), then DH carries the child and I carry a separate daypack with our extra gear.
We think this collapses nicely and stores flat, so I'm not sure why the other reviewer was complaining. The legs do fold together so the pack lays flat and stores nicely on a shelf in our closet.
I like this better than the Kelty, because the cargo area is below the baby (instead of on the baby's "back"), which keeps the heavy items closer to the adult and keeps the center of gravity more centered, making for a more comfy trip.
We used this on many long hikes for my son. He was a big baby and wasn't totally comfy in this pack until he was about 7 months old; before that, he just seemed too small and seemed to fall sideways and bounce around a lot, although I suspect other similar carriers may have had a similar effect.
The only complaint is that it doesn't have a pillow for my son to rest on while napping. We solved this buy buying an inflatable travel pillow, inflating half way, and shoving the uninflated (and flat) part between my son's stomach and the pack. The inflated part was then up above the carrier, between my son's face and my husband's back, and my son could lean forward and rest his face on the pillow to sleep.
