Comments about REI Ski Carrier:
This is the best ski carrier that I have seen in 32 years of skiing. Finally, I can safely hold on to my skis while walking up & down stairs. No more balancing my skis in my ski poles. No more dropped skis and cut hands from the ski edges.
It takes a little practice to secure your skis & poles in the strap, so practice at home before you get to the slopes. You will have a better sense of the balance point of your skiis. The ends of the straps are "velcro-type material" so you can secure the it around your skis while wearing ski gloves.
I would have liked the ends of the strap to be a inch or two longer, but I was able make it work even after being tired from skiing all day.
For the price, I believe it is worth the cost. The other reviewer didn't offer much on the benefits and experience of using it. If the ends had some stretch, it would be easier to get the strap ends around your skis, but it is my opinion that would ultimately be a weakness in the durability of the strap. So, for the cost, go buy one! Stop dropping your skis!

Comments about REI Ski Carrier:
This seems to be a REI in-house import. REI did carry the Bowtie Ski Carrier for years and it offered a longer adjustable handle and a bit of elastic in the wrap strap along with a better design. This one looks like a knock-off of the Ski Lift carrier and it just doesn't do as good a job as the Bowtie does. So if you are looking for a great carrier that folks said they bought at REI, this is probably not it.
