    After spending the day outdoors in full sun, high humidity and being covered in bug [*] the Sea To Summit Pocket Shower is one of those little items that seems to improve the quality of the nature experience . The pocket shower's good points include: It occupies roughly the space an attachment for a dromedary bag would. It is simplistic to use. It holds enough water for about 2 showers--good flow at first but does taper as the bag empties. Sets up in a flash.The only negative I have to say is that I was expecting the sun to heat the water in the black bag quicker. The nylon bag is thin and doesn't offer much insulation but it can be moved to hotter spots to pick up heat or filled with heated water.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    This compact, light-weight shower lives up to its claims. I showered for 9 minutes, two minutes over its 7-minute claim. Gravaity feed flow through the shower head is gentle and relaxing. At a base camp just let the sun warm the water, or pour in warm water when ready to shower at the end of the day. I wish I had this when I did the John Muir Trail--could have showered everyday and kept my sleeping bag, tent and cloths from smelling so ripe!

    This shower was a godsend for the three nights I spent camping in Yosemite recently. Although there are showers in the park, they were 1/2-mile away and I was too lazy to head there and then pay the $5 fee.

    I added a carabiner into the ring of this device and was able to hook it onto the side of my small camper.

    The only caveat I have is that the shower does get awkward to carry after it's filled up with water, so I really tried to minimize how much water I put in it.

      The shower packs into a small bag yet has a large water capacity(10 liters). The product now comes in an elastic black bag vs the previous generation where its nearly impossible to pack the shower bag into the given blue bag.

      The pocket shower worked very well as a water dispenser during my hikes in Yellowstone, not necessarily just as a shower. It saves time by eliminating mulitple trips to a nearby creek to wash or collect water for cooking. Especially so in the morning when its cold, dark and damp everywhere.

      Since i hike in the day and camped at night, there usually isnt enough time to warm up the water to a comfortable level for bathing during mid-May season in the north of Yellowstone.

      The bottom nozzle is impossible to keep clear of the ground while tying(folding) up the bag after collecting water. The nozzle tends to get scratched and soiled because 10 liters is a heavy load to manipulate in the air. But once the top is folded and clipped together, the buckle makes a convenient handle to carry the bag.

      I think the string they provided is wrong for this load. Its thin and elastic when it should be rigid like a nylon fishing line. I could not trust the elastic string to hold the load when i try to haul this up the bear pole. Instead i use one hand to hold up the bag and the other hand to pull the working end of the string taught.

      Surprisingly the nozzle did not get clogged by the creek water i collected which had a lot of debris.

        This is a neat little rig. I didn't quite figure out how to hoist it up high enough to get a stand up shower, but it worked well enough anyway.

        One thing that remains a mystery: I bought this so I could take a shower and the whole "solar" thing escapes me. It doesn't really get warm enough without pouring in two boiling pots of water. One pot would take the edge off, two was actually enjoyable. Yes, I let this thing sit all day but it was at 6'000 in September, but totally sunny weather.

        Anyway, I'd buy it again, it also doubles as a water tank/hauler. For showering, just budget extra fuel to warm it up!

          I used this on a 12 day backpacking trip through Yosemite in Aughust of last year.

          By turning the valve on and off 3 people showered off of one fill. I also used it to haul extra water for filtering and dish washing.

          Going to sleep clean every night after 15 mile days was unbeatable.

          Packed up it's about the size of a 2 packs of playing cards stacked on top of each other. The string for hanging is thin as some said but not weak or difficult and it's plenty long.

          Don't expect super hot water. I let it sit on the granite in the sun for an hour late in the day and it was warm enough to be comfortable.

          Bottom line: Get it. Everyone in your group will be asking for a turn.

          Totally worth the buy, it didn't get 5 stars because the string that it comes with is pretty thin/flimsy, making it difficult to hang. Add a caribiner and perhaps some thicker nylon rope to hang. Also recommend standing on some tarp while showering or using sandals so you don't get muddy. Doesn't heat the water like I thought, but still does the job well!
