Comments about Black Diamond Havoc Telemark / Randonee Skis:
Unbelievably quick edge-to-edge for its width and girth. You have to be on your game though and work these bad-boys. If you get lazy, they will call you on it. If you drive these hard, they will smirk at you and ask you "Is that all you have?" I love it!

Comments about Black Diamond Havoc Telemark / Randonee Skis:
All around awesome ski.
Currently mounted with BD's O1 Tour bindings and mid-stiff cartridges. This ski is light and tours well. It is wide enough to float reasonably well in powder, quick enough for trees and performs well in bumps and hard pack. It excels at busting through crud and heavy semi-packed powder. If you can only afford one ski, this is a great candidate. In the perfect world you'd probably want a different ski for powder, park, etc., But in the perfect world the ski genie would just hand them to you and you wouldn't need to read this.
As the previous reviewer said, you need to stay on top of these skis and drive them. Definitely a hard-charging ski that responds well to powerful skiers. Relax and they'll quickly hand you your butt.
I'm even considering buying a second pair for when I wear these out.
Cons: Top seems to chip easily; tips and tails are a bit too rounded/wide to support the clips for most skins and these tend to come off easily, especially at the tips. Don't stand up well to skins - every time I get done with a tour there's more top-board missing. This, however, is pretty minor.
Other Cons: What happened to the Mexican wrestler/demon on the old Havocs? That was one cool dude. The graphics on these make no sense.

Comments about Black Diamond Havoc Telemark / Randonee Skis:
I have skied these for about a month and a half now and I love them. Since I bought them I haven''t had the need (or desire) to take any other ski out. I am 6''1", 165lb and am skiing the Havoc 175. I have used them all over both on piste and in the back country and they transition seamlessly from powder to crud to groomed and back again. Sure, if you can afford multiple skis you might choose something fatter than the Havoc for pow and if you''re going to stick the the groomed you might want something with more shape. But if you''re like me and can only get one ski, this is a great choice. I have them mounted with the Marker Barron, and use skins from climbingskins[@], a company in Jackson WY that makes some killer climbing skins for a killer price.Like others have said they carve, float, and are plenty stiff to transfer a ton of power from turn to turn, so don't get careless or you'll find yourself face first down the slope. One thing to note, back country skis do have some special engineering regarding back country specific features (i.e. light weight, skin attachment etc.). But for a lot of things a ski is a ski. Skis marketed as "Alpine" tend to be more expensive as the companies figure anyone who only skis on resort won't look at back country skis. If you can charge down a 55 degree back country shoot with a ski though, I think it just might be able to handle that off piste little run you've been looking at on the resort...But as always, there's no substitute for a demo ride.
