Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I just returned a pair after wearing them for 2 weeks. The problems I found:1. Very poor motion control for ankles - if you have even a slight over-pronation these shoes are not for you. I would not dare taking them to a hiking trip.2. They have a heavy chemical smell (even after two weeks) and they should not have passed quality control. The same persistent smell I've noticed on other shoes but they had an excuse - they only cost [$] not[$]

Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I tried three different pairs of these shoes and not one was properly made. All had small-to-major defects that affected comfort. Merrell's quality control has plummeted since I bought my Yukon hiking boots.

Message to Merrell: Bring back the Pulse II, PLEASE!!! I bought the Radius Waterproof as a substitute replacement for my aging Pulse II x-trainers thinking performance would be the same. I was wrong. They are a bit clunky and extremely hot. I could not believe how wet my feet were when I took them off. I'm sorry that Merrell chose to discontinue such a winning shoe that they had in the Pulse II. I'm taking my Radius back for a refund and will try to get something more comparable to the Pulse.

Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I returned a pair of the mid-rise version of this shoe after one hike. I bought them as a replacement for the Merrell Pulse II--a great shoe, but no longer available. This shoe however has a too-soft outer heal that caused my under-pronated foot to roll on uneven trails--a good way to sprain an ankle. Comfortable, but too dangerous for a hike.

These shoes are so comfortable that they are like wearing socks, but with better protection.

These babies kept my feet dry despite running through a freak downpour (on pavement). This is my first water-proofed pair so I'm really impressed.
Traction and support are definitely noteworthy. Sometimes you feel like you're wearing a pair of socks !
Never felt this comfy since my old Pulse (don't like Pulse II).
If mine falls apart, I'll get the same pair (again).

Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Very for the outdoor "trail" use. Will be heavier than your running shoe, and comparable x-trainer, so if your looking for something to run on streets or in the gym, get the typical tennis shoe. This is a terrific shoe for the active outdoor person. Walking, hiking trails, light hiking w/o pack; where conditions may be anything but "metro."
It says waterproof, but as with any footwear, you need a good coat of proofing, otherwise, your feet will get wet. A can a spray-on water repellant is cheap and well worth it. Get a can with the shoes.
I have had these for about 6 months, wear them just about every day, and they have held up perfectly. Been thru all of the elements too - snow, rain, mud, extreme cold. GREAT SHOE !

Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
i use this as a hike shoe and it gives reliable traction everywhere, including during abseiling. I returned some Merrell Chameleon's that were horribly uncomfortable. These shoes brought me back to Merrell.. It is supportive, comfortable, and somewhat waterproof. They feel a bit clunky but my normal shoe is a puma so its a matter of opinion. And they sometimes dig into the top of my toes when they are flexed completely.. Overall, for durability, comfort, and protection. This shoe is great!

Comments about Merrell Radius Waterproof Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I just purchased these shoes and very happy with them so far. I have extremely flat feet and have to wear custom inserts in all my shoes. After putting the inserts in they have become the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a long time. I am in the military and just returned from Iraq. If I could have worn these out there I would have.

Like sports car tires, this one has great traction. Like sports car tires, the sole wears out quickly. I have a pair with nearly new uppers, but the soles are shot.
