      Perfect for casual day use. It carries all my core essentials--first aid kit, water, snacks, light sweater, phone/gps in strap pocket, vital papers. Inside pocket is suitable for water bladders or a small laptop or portable dvd player. It wears very well, but tips forward when set down due to the bottom slanting upwards, so all the weight lies on the bottom edge material near the back support. As a result, that area is starting to wear out after only three months of everyday use. I personally would like a chest strap between the two shoulder strap, but it's not necessary. This pack wears wonderfully, is well aerated, roomy, and I receive compliments on it. Great for a 5'1" frame.

      This pack is certainly our choice for environmental conciousness due to its high percentage of recycled material. We used this pack on an overseas trip for 3 weeks and the only complaint is that it can be slightly off-balance if you are shorter than 5'5". But a little adjustment of contents and straps can compensate for that. Otherwise, it is the best pack for light weight and versatility in the smaller pack category that we have used. Its a sharp looking as well!

        This is a truly outstanding backpack. Extremely elegant, non-mainstream, functional, light, comfortable and hopefully durable (so far). I use it everyday and have done several one-day hikings in Glacier Natl. Park, and in Telluride. Access to side compartments is simple, and eliminate the need of classical and boring compartmentalized spaces. Strongly recommend it.

          Just gave the black one to my partner and it was a big hit. It has all the compartments she requested and will be useful for weekend trips, both fun and professional, and carrying her laptop and work stuff on walking commutes. We both love that it is mostly constructed of recycled materials.(I do find it odd that the blue one is[$] more than the black one - it seems that the specs are the same??)
