      I wore this rain jacket on a canoe trip through the arctic and I couldn't have been more satisfied. This was the first rain coat I've ever owned that hasn't left me wet after 10 minutes of rain. The rain drops would bead on the surface of the coat and roll right off instead of seeping in. It also served quite well as a windbreaker in colder, windier weather. This jacket breathes, but it also can keep you warm if you layer-- it retains just enough heat. If you do plan on needing to layer, just keep in mind that the jacket is quite fitted and you might need to bump up a size if you need a bulky fleece underneath.

        This is a beautiful jacket. I ordered one size up for layering and the fit was fine. Unfortunately, I was unable to manipulate the small gauge flat zippers. I have arthritus in my fingers and my attempts to start the front zipper at the bottom were like trying to thread a small needle, even when I was not wearing the jacket. I loved everything about the jacket (red on red, great!) and returned it with regret. I would recommend this to anyone, with a warning about the zippers.

          I used this jacket for skiing. I would just layer underneath it and it worked wonderfully. The fit was a little small around the bottom, but the side-zips helped with that. It is very form-fitting and that is why I liked it - I didn't look like the abominable snowman in it. I stayed dry in this jacket, for sure. I was disappointed when the main zipper started giving me trouble and then broke all together and I couldn't fix it. So I had to return it.

              I was very disappointed in this jacket.I bought it for my wife by mail order, but as soon as we took it out of the package we could see it's really designed for fashion, not for outdoor use.It's not just "shaped", it's form fitting for a very fit or very young person with no fleece, or other under garment. There's no way anyone would take this into uncertain conditions, it's designed for walking to the car.Definitely try this on before you buy; it's not for mail order[...]
