    I bought these trips for one-bag travel. They are wonderfully lightweight and yet stylish enough to wear almost anywhere. I took 2 pair to Europe and was able to hand wash them at night and have them dry before the next morning. I have not worn them backpacking yet, but they would be an excellent choice in cooler weather.

    I took these on a trip where the temperature varied greatly. They were comfortable the whole time. I wore them for four days and they still looked clean and fresh afterwards.

      I found these pants while looking for something else, and took them with others on a trip to Italy in December. With a light silk layer, they adapted nicely to the cold weather (including snow!) that we encountered. I had a couple of other slacks that I rarely wore because these fit my needs so well, and I was able to count on them drying by morning.
      This summer, I used these pants as well on a trip at the other temperature extreme, in Mexico. They breathe well and give me the sun protection I need.
      I drive long distances in a car, and do a lot of domestic air travel. These pants, along with my many-pocketed vest, are my choice for almost every trip. They keep their good looks, adapt well to layering, and come in the longer length that I often have trouble finding. I am ordering 2 more pair.

          I bought these based on reviews. I also bought 3 other diffferent types of pants of average length on the site and all fit me the way they should. This pair, however were the only ones I purchased LONG-and these were too short. I am 5'7 and typically wear a size 8, these didn't fit me right anywhere.

          I wear these pants in all situations. Every day around the house and town, camping, and hiking. I have two big dogs--"hair every where"! These pants are like teflon--nothing sticks. They wash and dry beautifully. always look neat, and wear like iron. I have a couple of pairs in black and khacki and one pair in bark (no longer available), Please, please, make them in more colors. Wonderful value.
