Comments about Mountain Hardwear Stimulus Jacket - Men's:
Good concept but really awkward sizing. I own five mountain hardwear jackets and I always wear a medium and they all fit. I ordered the stimulus in medium and it was so small I couldn't even wear it. I upgraded for a large and still the shoulders/armpits were tight while the rest of the jacket was suddenly baggy.
So you've got a lithe frame and don't have large deltoids you'll probably be okay. Anyone who's of an average build like myself (180 lbs and 5 ft 10 in) might have issues...
The overall design and materials still are great. It's quite waterproof but the material isn't rigid so you don't feel like you're wearing cardboard.
The large size stimulus is light... it actually weighs in at around 7.56 ounces, slightly heavier than advertised. I didn't weight the medium sized one. I imagine the small size is probably as light as advertised.
Still, there's no hood so even if it's raining you'll still need waterproof head wear. With that said, I returned mine because my medium-sized Mountain Hardwear Backcountry Recon jacket weighs in at just over 20 ounces (size medium) but has a hood and has several more pockets making it slightly more utilitarian than carrying a jacket AND hat.
