Discard the compass. This is a comfy watchstrap that will last a couple of years (ordering 3rd one now), as long as you're handy with a butane lighter to singe any stray material every 6 months or so. Eventually the stitching holding the decorative fabric on will fail - can be fixed if you can sew (I can't).

This is one of the few straps where nothing contacts your wrist except fabric. No clasp at all. Comfortable...

Purchased to have a quick check when traveling; recognized as not a top quality product. On the way from the store to my car the bubble broke up and the dial hung up and would not point in the correct direction. Not a good thing for a compass.
