Comments about Arc'Teryx Alpha SV Bib - Men's:
I got these if the full crotch zip version (which is essential for use with a climbing harness. and in a medium/tall size. My waist is 32" and my inseam is 32". I'm on my second pair of these bibs. The first set lasted through 5 seasons of touring in the Wasatch, a ski expedition to Baffin Island, ski descents of Hood, Shasta, St. Helens, and the Haute Route. I would have to estimate the total number of days of use at 200. The only thing that I didn't like is the fact that the knees wear out too quickly. Admittedly, I am a telemark skier and tend to be hard on my gear. I would also say that all of the many pairs of gore-tex shell pants I've owned by numerous manufacturers have had fragile knees. Bottom line: If you can deal with patching the knees these are the best expedition, full condition bibs for climbing and skiing on the market.

Comments about Arc'Teryx Alpha SV Bib - Men's:
This seems to be a nice pair of bibs, but if you're thinking about buying them for skiing, you should know that they don't have gaiters/cuffs at the bottom of the legs to keep out the snow. These bibs are for mountaineering. Check out the ArcTeryx site for verification. If you want skiing bibs, check out the ArcTeryx Minuteman, Theta SK, or Stinger bibs. None of those come up as high on the body as these, but they have cuffs to keep the powder out.
