    As the title mentions, there is no snow skirt in this "ski" jacket; just draw cords to pull the jacket tight around the waist. That is the only major dissapointment I have and it's probably not enough to return the coat (a good yard sale deserves a little pow up the back). There are lots of pockets, but most are not deep enough to hold anything substantial and the inside pocket doesn't have a closure (good if you ski with a pack). Other than that, I absolutely love this coat. Everything is well made. The zippers are high quality and easily zip up/down, the ventalation is awesome with the different options on the chest and the pit vents. Keep in mind that this is a shell so it requires one to know how to layer to fit the conditions. I'm a bit skeptical about the longevity of the waterproofing so I'd advise to wash as little as possible (mfg stands behind it though). Well see how it handles the pow at Keystone and Breck in a few weeks...

      This is just a awesome Jacket, I have 2 of the steep techs. The 1st one lasted 6 years, when the zipper went bad, I took it to the North Face store and they replaced the zipper for free. There is a lifetime warranty to the jacket if ever something goes bad on it. And it looks awesome! I always get compliments on it!

      I use this for many outdoor activities.Snowshoeing, skiing,and winter camping. It has been a great shell for all activities. ventilates great and definatly keeps the wind out. the one drawback is all the pockets are rather small. could have larger hand warmer pockets as when in the chalet,gogels go in the inside pocket with nowhere to put items such as gloves. Every where I go people comment on this jacket
