Great product in many ways. BUT, it won't fit the size restructions for British Air -- even empty -- because of the frame length + wheels.

I have had this particular REI suitcase for almost four years. It is durable and well-made for its price, so it is worth considering vs. the pricier Victorinox and Eagle Creek pieces. I've traveled cross-country and to Hawaii several times with this bag - and it still looks great!
I continue to love the many compartments - which work well for dirty items on your return trip - and the smooth-rolling in-line skate wheels. I don't like to carry-on my bag anyway, but if you do, then you can't pack the outer-most compartment and must keep the expansion zipper closed.

First blush comes in packing. Great spaces to separate packables. Even better during travel, when I found I needed a spot for dirty clothes, and the nice lid comparment is lined, great separation. The second revelation came in walking through the airport. Silky smooth rollers, nice two step handle that make rolling in tight spaces easier. Two handles make carrying on board even a small plane easy.

This is an excellent wheeled carry-on. It is so well designed it is sick. Lots of thoughtfully placed pockets and compartments, outside zippered pouches are intelligently designed. Rolls like silk. Durable as [*]! (cross country twice with nary a mark), and quite stylish. A bit pricey, but certainly a better value that other comparable products from Vitronox or Samsonite.

This suitcase rocks. Plain and simple. It is the most stable piece of rolling luggage I have ever owned. It is tough too. At least I haven't been able to break it yet, which speaks volumes.

My son bought this for me and I took it to Kenya and back. It was so easy to pack and carry. I used it as carry-on luggage one direction and checked it the other. Beautiful!

It is quite capacious. So for easy access on a long flight, I sometimes put heavier items, e.g. laptop, books, shoes on the front of the luggage, where I can take them out without unzipping the main zipper. It's great that I can fit these things in. However, the luggage tend to tip over forward in the airport. It's not a big problem. However, it could have been perfect if only it had a pull out stand to eliminate this nuisance.

I picked up one of these on sale a while back. It is a good value and is both durable and spacious. It is on the utilitarian end of the carry-on wheelies spectrum. It doesn't have as many pockets, sleeves, etc. as some others, but overall it does what it is supposed to do.
HEADS UP, this bag does not fit in the carry-on test box at the checkpoint/gate. It does fit into the overhead bins. But if you run into a strict security screening or gate agent (e.g. London Heathrow) they will probably make you check it.

I used this as check baggage for multi-week trip through Hong Kong and South China. I was impressed that nothing broke or loosened up after taking this bag all over Hong Kong, Shanghai, and several cities in Guangdong province. It survived extensive use of public transportation, stairs and escalators, and multiple internal trips by bus, ferry and airplane.
In the past, I've used a convertible back-pack of similar size for this type of trip, but I'm now sold on this as my primary luggage. The smaller compartment at the bottom works well for a second pair of shoes, while the larger zippered compartment can be used to separate worn clothes from freshly laundered.
The bag does have a tendency to tip over when fully loaded and with the expansion zipper let out. It also has three zippers to secure if you are going to use as check baggage.
