Comments about REI Down Infant Suit:

My husband 'wore' our 6-m old daughter on his chest walking around several trails at the Deception Pass State Park in this outerwear. It was pouring cats and dogs, windy like mad, and bone chilling. During the walk, she was able to nap comfortably; and when we got back to the car, my husband and I were soaking wet but she was completely dry and warm. She didn't sweat inside the down suit either, which proved its 'breathability' claim. We also like its soft material (inside and outside) so that it doesn't painfully rub her and my husband's skin. The only 'drawback' is that it has 'cover-up' for her hands and feet. If your child grows really fast, you must buy the bigger size. If you buy too big of a size, your child will 'drown' inside this suit because of its 'one size fits all' hood and hands-feet cover-up features. Nevertheless, we really like this product and recommend buying it.

Comments about REI Down Infant Suit:

We love this little suit. We call our daughter "the blueberry" whenever she wears it. It is darling. Very warm, well made, versatile and snuggly soft. We were so impressed we'll probably buy another for #2. We think it might run a little large but it wasn't a problem for us, it was a little big in the fall and she wore it all winter and into the spring. Great product.

Comments about REI Down Infant Suit:

We had out first snow today, meaning it was time to bring out the super warm winter gear. I picked up this snowsuit two weeks ago, after seeing it in the REI store in Anchorage. My husband and I both use down outerwear during the winter, and stay very warm even when it is -40 outside.

I was so happy to find a down snowsuit that I know will keep my son warm during his first winter in Alaska. Since winters are so long here, I went ahead and bought the next size up as well for him to wear at the end of the winter.

Comments about REI Down Infant Suit:

Although I like this snow suit, I am not sure that it really is warm enough for very cold weather. I took our 12 mo old out for a run (she in her Bob stroller of course) on a 15 degree day, no wind. She was covered with another wind proof blanket and was wearing a smart wool hat and mittens and was BARELY warm. Today we were out with she in her suit, hat, mittens, a sheep skin blanket and the wind protector on the Bob stroller. The temp was about 20 with a 15 mi/hour wind. Next time I will put another layer on her. Bottom Line: if you are going out on a COLD day, and not wearing your baby...dress them warm and bring lots of blankets. This suit is not a furnace!

Comments about REI Down Infant Suit:

This is a great warm suit. My daughter is 14 months and big for her age. I bought the 18 month size, and it fits great although the legs are not long enough to flip the little covers over her feet but that is ok since she is walking and has boots. The legs fit down to her ankles, so it works for us. The suit is very soft and "bendable", not like other jackets and pants that encased her arms and legs in stiff fabric.
She stays very warm in this suit. I highly recommend it.
