        I already own a Muir Woods Fleece jacket and liked it so much I just had to get the vest. I use it as my mid layer for backpacking, hiking and snowshoeing. I really like the soft fleece and it looks like they've made some improvements over my older version (better zipper pulls, pocket layouts, etc.). I'm not sure why people think the sizing is too small. My med. feels like a true medium and fits perfectly under my shells. Seems pricey at first glance but after you use it, you'll see that the price is well worth it. Unblike cheaper fleeces, it holds up well to repeated washings and still looks like new.

          I bought this vest in the store, and I have been wearing it every day since. The style is classic, and it enhances any outfit you wear. The sizing isn't correct, which is very unusual for REI. However, it feels SO comfortable! Yes, it is pricey, but I feel it is worth it. If they would fix the size issue, it would be perfect.

          This is a great vest. The fleece is soft, comfortable, and warm. It does a fine job in aiding to keep your core warm. The wear around the neck is nicely done and feels great. There are only a few down sides to this vest. The sizing is small. I normally wear a large and had to go to a x-large. The vest offers little protection from the wind but I knew that when I made the purchase. However, the vest is great for mid layering or even wearing on it's own. It's well made and tough.

            Too small fit in a L for someone 6'1, 200. Which was odd, as most other REI items I bought for a ten day hiking/camping trip in L fit fine. Basically I wasn't impressed - and I got it on sale [$]. For [$], forget it - go down to a big box retailer and find one cheaper. Or at least try this on in a store first.
