Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
I used this fan recently at Lake Mead during 95+ temperatures. It worked great at night, and kept a nice steady breeze inside the tent all night without draining the batteries. However, I would suggest not using the magnet with Hobitat tents or any other tent with a mesh ceiling. On first use, the magnet punched three pea-sized holes in our tent ceiling (a Hobitat 6). Use the caribeaner clip instead. [...]

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
This is the best fan I've used. My partner and I were camping in Michigan during the summer and it was nearly 90 at night, in the tent. This fan was the only thing that made that night and others bearable. It is heavy and it can eat batteries but it works so well that packing extra batteries is well worth the space. If you're camping in the summer, do yourself a favor and buy this before you leave.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
I often find that tents overheat in the daytime making that noontime nap a little uncomfortable. This product mounts pretty easily on the roof of the tent -- although the plastic carabiner included with the fan is too small -- and provides quiet ventilation. I like the night light feature too.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
You get what you pay for. This fan is great if you hang it directly over you. Don't expect it to cool your whole tent.
The lights are great. But once again, don't expect it so light up a giant tent.
Great product for the price.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
Tried this because of a late summer camp trip, hoping to cool the tent at night somewhat, didn't happen. You can't even tell this thing is on unless you set up and get directly under this thing. It's a nice idea, but it just doesn't put out the air to matter in a 4 man tent.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
We have two of these in our Hobitat 6. Don't use the magnets. Just clip them to the ceiling through the loops. We plan on getting two more to make it WELL ventilated. I use rechargeable D batteries and they worked just fine. The only issue I have is I wish the fan circulated more air. Packing these is also a challenge. Would be great if they came with their own storage bags...
It would also be a nice addition if the LED lights were on the edge rather than just the middle. That way there would be more illumination. The night light is a nice touch however.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
We purchased this fan for a 3 day canoeing trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe area in Northern Minnesota. My girlfriend loves to have a fan to fall asleep to so we figured this was a decent compact solution. The fan worked great for the first night, but on the second night it started losing its fan power. The fan would suddenly stop spinning completely and then start up again. Possibly we just received a bad unit, otherwise it would be pretty sad if they broke on the 2nd day.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
I bought this fan in an attempt to circulate air during the day in 80 degree temps. I was disappointed that unless you lowered the fan directly above your head, it barely made a difference. We used rope and tied it to the loops in the top of our tent (Hobitat 4). It is very quiet as you can barely hear it, I was just hoping for more of a relief. The LED lights are a nice plus. The night light is a good brightness for seeing things in the tent before bed.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
I camp in the SE, in a 2 man tent. This work great if it is right over your head, cliped to one of the tent loops. Do not use the magnet unless it is on a canvas tents that are put up by BSA Summer Camps.
The fan runs quiet. It would be better if it would move more air. but in a small tent it is just right.

Comments about Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light:
this thing seemed like a good idea when i got it, but quickly proved pretty useless - pretty much my general opinion of the company that makes this thing since i was a little kid.
if you have your rain fly on your tent properly so it ventilates, this thing isn't going to help matters a great deal. we wound up using it more for the night lights than the fan.
if you had a small tent, were by yourself and had it blowing directly on your chest, it would probably work much better than a 3 person car camping tent with two people.
also, you wouldn't believe how much room this thing takes up. don't even think about taking it into the backcountry. definitely for car camping with a truck or SUV - something with lots of room for extra stuff.
