Comments about The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Men's:
i originally got this shell when i was going to the '98 winter olympics. since then, it has been to one other winter olympics, london rain, backpacking through denali - through snowcaves & winter camping and all my trips since then. it zips together with the denali fleece jacket or the nuptse down jacket.
this jacket is part of the legacy products proven on expeditions. this was all before the company was sold in 1998. since then, under subsequent owners up to the current vf ownership, they have tended to drift from their extreme outdoor gear roots into the fashion business.
the key aspects of this jacket is the welded seams, zip integration into shells, pit zips to regulate your comfort, stuffs into its own pocket & the goretex pro shell. since it zips into its pocket & turns into a football-sized package, it can easily be tossed into your pack or suitcase for those times when the weather changes unexpectedly. put on the hood & walk into the rain. no need for an umbrella. open up the pit zips if you're too warm.
i don't like the new colors though. this shell needs to be viewed as a jacket system when coupled with a compatible liner jacket. great by itself in the rain or waterproof & warm with the right interior.
all in all, this is the last jacket you will ever need for winter & travel.

Comments about The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is versatile and durable. This is the 2nd one I've owned and the 1st is still in great shape after 12 years. North Face seems to have made their X-Large roomier within that timeframe which is the only reason I got a new one. I highly recommend this jacket.

Comments about The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Men's:
Awesome jacket. I have a zip in denali and it provides adequete comfort. I live in Chicago, and have recently tested it out in the 0 degree weather with -20 wind chill and 40mph winds....i don't feel a thing...does a great job at wind/water proof and the hood system is awesome. I use to hate built in hoods..but not anymore

What can I say, I own 6 TNF jackets and this is the oldest and my personal favourite. Completely flexible in all weather and danm near indestructible. This is what TNF is meant to be.
