Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Chicken and Dumplings:
I love bread and this meal is one of the best I've ever tried. I prepared this at around 9,700 ft above sea-level and I went by the directions on the package and it turned out perfect. The dumplings (bread) was fluffy. Add a few more items to this (diced carrot, little more onion, etc.) and you've pretty much got chicken pot pie.

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Chicken and Dumplings:
We were not prepared to do any cooking on a 7 night backpcking trip in Glacier National Park. We were very dismayed to discover that this product required cooking to be edible. All the other meals we took only required boiling water to be added but this one had to be cooked! Luckily one member of our party had a metal bowl so we managed to get this meal prepared .....barely! The package states "add boiling water".

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Chicken and Dumplings:
Good Meal, tastes great. Easy to prepare. I would suggest preparing in the Outback Oven which makes it easy, dumplings come out golden brown and the peas get cooked without being hard or dry. Worth the effort of packing. Wonderfull reward after hiking all day.

When you're out there it doesnt get any better food wise, makes plenty for 2 people and just really hits the spot after a long day of exploring. I will be back for seconds!

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Chicken and Dumplings:
We had this our last night out. It was pretty good, it needs to cool a bunch so you don't burn your mouth on the hot doughy dumplings, but that is user error, we were way too hungry to wait. It doesn't take horribly long to prepare, and doesn't even really require a bowl to mix in. We used a zip lock baggie to make the dough in then cut the corner off and plopped it in.
It was pretty good, filling and not too bland.
