Works great if you can find some where to hang it and the ground isn't all dirt. I like to shower or rinse off after a long hot day of adventure in the outdoors. She likes it because she can rinse off and I'm not stinking up joint when it's bed time. All in all it is very worth having.

There is no insulation on the bottom side of the bag to insulate the water from the cold ground. The hanging strap does not have a buckle so you have to retread the strap while holding the shower full of water above your head. The fill cap is difficult to screw on and get a good seal and the shower head as rather large holes that waste water. I bought this item because it was the only one I could find locally I wish I had ordered another manufactures product instead.

Surprisingly poor quality by REI's standards. I've now bought and returned two of these. With the first one, the seam burst the first time I used it. With the second one, the material ripped by the handle and developed several holes the first time I used it. Great idea in theory; REI needs to find another vendor for this item.

We bought this solar shower to replace the Sun Shower product we had for 20 years. After a year of moderate to light use while kayaking it is leaking badly. I only wish our old Sun Shower was still on the market. It had a liquid crystal temperature indicator on the clear front side and the back was a much blacker black. We would routinely get 110-120F after a day in the sun on the back of our boat. Shoot, we even put it on top of our car engine to heat water for after backpacking remote showers. I can't recommend this product for anything but the most light, infrequent use.

It worked well. It is also nice to use for dish cleaning. However, we found a comparable product at another store after this was purchased for half the price and double the holding capacity.

The screw-on hose connection comes loose at every handling of the bag. This resulted is having $100's of my guide books getting ruined in my car! There needs to be a clip-on hose holder for the shower head: it flops around, loosening the connection to the bag. The web hanging strap is worthless, as getting the bag to hang high enough in a tree is hard enough even without it, it's too short, and needs a snap buckle rather than a thread-thru coupling.

The Stearns product is better: permanent, factory hose connection, shower head clip, AND liquid crystal temp indicator!
