Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I debated for quite some time between the Thule Ridgeline and Yakima Flipside, ultimately selected the Thule based on recommendations from several friends and numerous online reviews and comparisons. This is my first hitch mount rack and I could not be more satisfied. Out of the box we assembled this product in less than 20 minutes. As a five foot five inch female I easily take this hitch rack on and off my 4Runner. Our first trip was a 5 hour drive on the interstate and into the mountains with 4 mountain bikes. It was somewhat challenging to load the 4th bike and we were not able to use the "no sway" attachment on the last bike. However, all bikes were very secure and rode great, even through wind and rain storm on the drive home. We didn't even notice they were there.
I would highly recommend spending a couple extra dollars for the Thule Ridgeline versus the Roadway. The "no sway" cages are very easy to snap on and off and provide great extra stability. Also, the integrated locking cable and hitch lock are very convenient and I'm completely confident parking my car anywhere and leaving my bike loaded. The price may seem spendy, but I wish I would have purchased this hitch rack a long time ago. I highly recommend the Thule Ridgeline.

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
This rack is everything I wanted and more. I have had it now for four months and can't find anything bad about it. I like the locking feature to the hitch which allows me to leave it on the car at all times with no worry. It also allows you to lock the bike to the rack so you can stop and eat at the end of a long day of riding with no worry about your bikes. The tilt down feature of either the arms or the whole rack to get into the back of the vehicle if also A+. I have had three bikes on this rack as of this post and been on the highway doing 75MPH and their was no problem or worry with the bikes. Another thing that is nice is the anti-sway strap goes through the bottom of the rack and how it holds the bike in place with no movement. When I was looking at racks I looked at a lot of other brands but this one seemed the best built for the price and I figured if I was buying good bikes I wanted them on good rack.

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I would rate this bike rack as my best purchase of the year 2007.
It is very quick and easy to install.
The quick releases work extremely well. I just leave the rack on my station wagon most of the time, taking it only off if I have to put very bulky items into the trunk. So now I can just throw my bike on the car on short notice, without any hassle - which led to a 300% increase in the amount of exercise I get ;-) I take the bike along for lunchbreak rides pretty much on every day now when I don't have the time to do the full commute by bike.
I had a rack before that didn't fold down, and I very quickly learned that this is a feature that you simply can't live without (unless your garage is huge), so I returned it after a week of having to take the rack off the car every evening and got the Ridgeline instead.
I have not transported 4 bikes on it yet, but have loaded it up with 3 bikes regularly. I could imagine 4 bikes being a bit of a hassle to figure out how to arrange them without handlebar conflicts. But the 3 always worked out well. I have used the rack with one bike on it on long drives, which included both interstate and bumpy dirt road use, and had no trouble whatsoever with the bike coming loose. I even had the car parked with the bike on the rack during near-Tornado-level winds, and found absolutely no evidence of the bike having banged against the rack or the car.
So, in summary: Love it, couldn't imagine life without it anymore!

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
This rack is exactly what I wanted. Easy to take on/off my vehicle, which I do a couple times a week. The hitch and bike lock are really handy and make me feel secure, especially in downtown Chicago. The sway bars are a nice addition too, but if you go with a cheaper version of the Ridgeline you can buy these seperate [$]. I've only had it a few months, but I know this is sturdy enough to be around for many, many years. Oh yes, and easily converted from small to large hitch. Great because we have a pick-up and a small SUV!

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
This rack has lots of great features. The integrated locking cables are really convenient. Construction is very solid. Holds bikes very securely. I did find that it can be tough to mount a lot of bikes when they are different sizes/types. A road bike, ladies English 3 speed, and little kids mountain bike did not mix well.

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
The Thule Bike Racks are very easy to install, use, and the quality is excellent.
I use the 2" version with my Jeep for My Mountain Bikes. I have not had any issues to date.
I have owned both Yakima & Thule Hitch Racks. The quality of the Thule racks are just a step up in my opinion.

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
We bought this instead of several less-expensive models based on reviews here, and we're glad we did -- this is a stellar product that's easy to install, easy to use, stable, and secure. The quick-release levers (for access to rear of vehicle and for collapsing arms) are simple to operate and require minimal strength. It takes just a few minutes to mount several bikes, and we didn't need any adapters, even with three bikes of different sizes with different tube angles. The no-sway attachments work exceptionally well -- I haven't seen a rack with less front-to-back (of the car) sway. The hitch lock means you can leave the rack on your car without as much worry that someone will steal it. Highly recommended.

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
Extremely rugged and stable transport for up to 4 bicycles, easily positioned and carried without damage or contact. Anti-sway feature works exceptionally well with road bikes, carrying them at highway speeds to your favorite cycling locations. Tilt feature allows easy access to the vehicle without removing the hitch!

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
I've owned this 954 rack for several years now, and it has been a great performer. Very solid and sturdy. However, I note other folks here say they have trouble using it with MTBs. I am here to dispel that issue: I load a large C'dale RUSH 1000 on it first, followed by a medium Ellsworth Epiphany, then a small Giant Rincon HT followed lastly by a kid's IBEX Alpine 440. No prob -- all four fit with a little finessing, and we've travelled hundreds of miles to races without a care, especially since we can lock all four onto the rack with the integrated licking cables! And that brings me to the one and only issue I have had with the 954: the tip-end cable of the integrated locking cable system got free of the pin holder the other day when no bikes were on the rack and it dragged on the ground, melting the tip (!!!). Sadly, there is no replacement that I can find ~ANYWHERE~ on the Thule site for this cable system -- it just isn't noted as a replacement part anywhere that I can find! I've written to Thule and I am sure it will all get sorted out eventually, but it seems odd that there isn't a ready replacement part I can order, especially since it would be fairly easy for someone to use cable cutters to snip through the cable if they really wanted to. Every other piece is noted as a replacement part, but this one isn't. That's kind of a[*]

Comments about Thule Ridgeline 4-Bike Rear Hitch Rack:
We use this rack for my hybrid bike and my boyfriend's mountain bike. The mtn bike is a bit tricky to stablize due to the frame of the bike, but they are easy to load and unload. I really like that I can open the back hatch of my RX330 with the rack on; that, along with the lock and anti-sway bars sold me on this rack.
