Comments about Scarpa Thunder Rock Shoes:
I recently purchased these shoes, and thus far have had no major complaints. The shoe is moderately firm, with good flex and a well-constructed footbox for edging and smearing. There's also plenty of room in the footbox for your toes; I've always used La Sportiva's Mythos as my shoe of choice, but needed a new pair for the gym, and thought I would give Scarpa a chance[$]. This is the first time I've owned a pair of Scarpa's, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they wear. I've been using mine primarily in the gym, and the shoes are great on the indoor routes. They fit seems true to size, but as with most climbing shoes, I recommend a size (or at least a half size) smaller than your normal shoe size. Mine have already started to stretch slightly. The heel is narrow, so if you're narrow-footed, this might be a good option. (I have a hard time finding climbing shoes for narrow feet - there always seems to be some weird gap of sorts). Also, they breath well, more so than the Mythos in my opinion.

Comments about Scarpa Thunder Rock Shoes:
I bought a pair of Thunders in America before going on a 10 week climbing trip there. Ive got big feet and sized them comfortable for sport climbing but a little tight for long multi pitch climbs. I used them in yosemite, Indian creek, maple and City of rocks. I found them to be an excellent all round shoe which performed better on tiny holds than my (much tighter) anasazi laceups. They have a excellent heel for heel hooking and the comfortable toe box makes falling while bouldering a much more enjoyable propersition. The x grip rupper is in my opinion as grippy as stealth onx. They were good in cracks but would have been better if Id sized them larger. I have since resoled them and they are holding up well, especially since I did a lot of crack climbing in them. I am going to buy another pair in the next size up (48!) for trad and alpine climbing. I would use them for 99% of my climbing and would only go to my (very tight) Gallileos for redpointing a difficult project. The best shoes Ive ever had.

Save your $$$ for some serious shoes, these ones [*]! They are not even good for a beginner so don't waste any money on them.

Comments about Scarpa Thunder Rock Shoes:
great all day trad shoe if sized comfortably. Good for otherwise painful flares in course granite like Lumpy or Josh. Not precise enough for sport or bouldering.
