Giro introduces the top-of-the-line Ionos (pronounced eye-oh-nOs) road bike helmet.

  • After three years in the development process, Ionos was tested by 27 riders who together logged over 50,000 miles in the '07 Tour de France

  • Through Giro's careful sculpting, weight scrutinization and use of lightweight materials, the Ionos seems to disappear when you put it on

        wow not any better than the Atmos... def not worth the price. not any lighter, not any more ventilated, fit was ehh.. just not any better. only thing that is higher is the price. dont get me wrong i swear by Giro. these lids have saved my life twice both in races. one was a Pneumo one of the best helmets ever made. the other was an Atmos THE greatest helmet ever made. i bought this to replace my Atmos and was somewhat disappointed. save the cash buy an Atmos you wont be dissapointed.. ride smart, be safe.

          this helmet saved my life. since the foam cracked during my accident(by design for safety), i have retired it and purchased another ionos. stay safe out there, and wear your ionos!

            Use this for commute and mountain biking. Lightweight, excellent ventilation, good vision (no visor). Ventilation made a difference as I have noticeably better endurance. If you are on your bike more than a couple times a week, this helmet is worth the extra $$$'s.

                not any more lighter than the atmos. it is definitely not worth the money as there are really no major improvements over the atmos. ventilation is supposed to be better and helmet is said to be lighter - NOT TRUE. not much wrong with the helmet per se but just seriously not worth the money when the atmos is pretty much exactly the same for much less money. and seriously, when will Giro fix the problems with the back of helmet adjustment mechanism, every giro helmet i have had (and everyone i know) breaks after a good amount of use -- less than desirable to say the least

                  I use this helmet to ride with a couple of riding groups. It is lite and allows pretty good ventilation. It did take a little longer for the straps to be adjustable to my head. Otherwise, just like the other Giro helmets I have used in the past ... great.
