Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Purchased this rope and was very happy at first. It handles great, and has a wonderful feel on the line. However, on the very first day of use during top roping, we found an abrasion in the sheath--didn't cut to far into the rope, but enough to expose the core and freak us out. Purchased it for its abrasion resistance rating, so was very surprised to see this happen. Suppose you could call it a freak accident, still not taking chances. Returned it promptly. Will choose rope with sharp-edge rating next.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I bought this rope and was at first amazed by its specs and its low price. However after using it a few times, it is perhaps the kinkiest rope I have ever used. Even after coiling, recoiling, falling, hanging, and just about all normal use, it remains to twist and tangle with the slightest touch. Hopefully petzl will change how it will construct its ropes for the future.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I like and buy Petzl products. However, this rope is an inferior product, perhaps because it is one of the first ropes Petzl has produced. My rope has worn much more in one year of moderate use than my previous rope (a Mammut with similar specs) wore in 4 years at about the same rate of use. It is also much more likely to kink. From reading web posts, I understand that many others are experiencing similar problems. I hope that Petzl irons out the problems in the near future

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I've had this rope for a year climbing one or more times a week, it had a soft feel right away it has taken a few big lead falls and been subjected to significant rope drag, there is one spot on the rope with a little bit of fuzziness on the sheath. it has held up great to a lot of use as there is no core slippage. It is about ten feet longer than a mammut 10.2mm X 60m

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Ugh. What a piece of junk. The sheath has turned into a fuzzy mess in a few months of use that picks up dirt like crazy and is a pain to belay with. I've owned ropes from blue water, beal, and sterling and never seen this happen this quickly. Total garbage.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
This was my first rope - and I really like the feel of the rope. However, it has worn out really quickly (within 9 months of usage), even though I extend it pretty religiously, etc. After reading the other reviews here it looks like others had similar issues. I'll certainly read rope reviews prior to purchasing my next rope.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I bought this rope. It started to fray immediately and didn't stop until I sent it back to Petzl with a friendly letter. To Petzl's credit, they replaced it with another rope of my choice from their product line. I will research another Petzl rope purchase alot before buying again, that's for sure. My other ropes have lasted much longer.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
After reading the other reviews on this rope, it only confirmed my findings on this rope. Like previously stated, it is a strong rope that saved my rear a couple of times. However, it frayed after the first couple of uses and I had a lot issues with it getting twisted up.

Comments about Petzl Zephyr 10.3mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I sure wanted this rope to work out 'cause it was on sale, but alas after only a couple of times on the rock both ends were frayed. Step it up Petzl!
