Comments about Granite Gear Meridian Vapor Ki Pack - Women's:
You have to make a commitment to lightweight hiking to use this pack, as there's not a lot of room inside. I'd never be able to use it for winter camping, and carrying a bear can leaves little room for other equipment. That said, it's a fantastic pack for 5-10 day 3-season trips. I bought it for a 240-mile section hike along the Pacific Crest Trail, and carried 25-35lbs in it. After carrying it for 2 weeks, it will be hard to go back to a heavier pack... It was comfortable to carry and surprisingly sturdy for such a lightweight pack -- even through brush and brambles. The lid "pocket" is great for stuff you need to get to quickly, and the stretchy side pockets also hold a surprising amount of gear -- and don't snag! The only thing I don't like is that it there are a lot of fiddly straps that need to be fastened and tightened every time the pack is loaded or opened.
